ENABLE UNKNOWN SOURCE APK & INSTALL APK TO HYPPTV WITHOUT ROOT!!!

Hi Guys,

I have created a little app to install unknown source APK into your HyppTV box! I have posted here https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...&#entry72787204 originally but think more people will notice if I open a new thread.

Steps:
0) MAKE SURE YOUR POWER SUPPLY IS ON FOR THE WHOLE PROCESS OR ELSE WILL SPOIL YOUR TV BOX
1) Copy the attached HyppTV-APK-Installer.zip  HyppTV_APK_Installer.zip ( 189.4k ) Number of downloads: 46310
to your USB drive.
2) Plug USB drive into your HyppTV box.
3) Power off your HyppTV box by plug out power cable.
4) Press your remote control RED power ON button and hold it till step 6.
5) Plug in power cable into your HyppTV Box and press the power button behind the box.
6) When you see white HyppTV welcome screem, you can release remote control RED power ON button.
7) You will see a black screen with a Android robot.
8) Use remote control UP/DOWN to navigate to "Apply update from external storage" and press OK button.
9) Choose HyppTV-APK-Installer.zip and press OK.
10) Wait for system to reboot and when start just run HyppAPK.

This little app will try to enable "Unknown source" apk installation, if set successful, it will fire up a simple file explorer for you to install APK. This app MUST be install as a system app for it to work (follow the 10 step above). As far as I know, no root is require.

Thanks akifrabbani for doing a great job to start all this! Without him, I will be so disappointed with HyppTV Box which cannot install APK!

Do we need to install the recovery first or updated firmware first? or We can do it direct from fresh unit out of TM?

You can do it from fresh unit. The 10 steps installation actually teach you how to go into recovery mode (which should already exists in fresh unit) and then install the app.

The app let you install other APK which you downloaded into your USD drive. The original HyppTV box do not allow us to install 3rd party APK.

means apart the stock youtube/hypptv channel app..then we can have like 3rd party radio/other surfing app via the hypptv box?

Yes! You just need to download the APK to your USB drive and follow the steps above, and you can install them from USB into your HyppTV box.

People already said it worked. But yes, it might void your warranty and brick your box if things goes wrong! Good luck!

Anybody already tested kodi in hyppe tv box

How to uninstall app. Such as my hdcinema already outdated. Want to install new one

Just install new one will overwrite old one, no need uninstall. If want to uninstall, go to Settings->Manage App.

Only for new android stb or compatible with old version stb?

This HyppTV Apk Installer works great. It won't mess up your Huawei EC6106V5 STB.

Before I install this apk, I restore back to factory default stock firmware, to avoid any future complication due to modification in the past.

Easier to install apk search using PC, copy into USB drive and install from there.

Perhaps, anyone can share which online TV or video on demand app suitable for this STB.

I installed CloudTV. Premium channels with good streaming speed only lasted a day. The free channels streaming speed really depends on your luck, time and channel you are watching.

HD Cinema v1.1.1 cannot play any video although I can see the movie listing with thumbnail images.

YouTube for TV can play video shown on home screen. Some video are not smooth, possibly due to 1080p quality (high bitrate). However, I cannot change setting to default to lower resolution (setting menu not functioning). Search function seems not working with remote control due to keyboard will not pop up.

Any other applications suggested for this STB?

Just make sure your STB is Huawei EC6106V5. The app is test on this STB, I am not sure about older STB which is not this model.

Can you share APK File for IPTV, HD TV and Cartoon HD? Because i failed to run the APK file that i find in the google.

Anyone facing problem like this?

it's work on me, but i tried to install some china apps like funtv, pps, letv, but cannot load video at all, speed 0 kpbs, or other settings need to set on my hypptv box ?

for those installed cloudtv, what player did you guys use ? Mx player or otherwise ? For certain HD channels i'm seeing it as square and any manual video stretching doesnt seem to fit well.

edit: uninstalled mx player and codec, reinstalled with vlc. Much better video adjustments

did you guys manage to uninstall those unwanted apks?..i try to uninstall at manage app..the app will be cleared but there will be a message 'data clear failed' and i also notice that the free space remained the same. guess it is not uninstalled successfully but the app is already gone from the list of downloaded applications

last month I use this trick, it's work. but 3 days ago my hypptv updated its self, all apps installed using this trick can't be used anymore.
I try to re-root using same trick also won't work,

me 2, i had installed this apk before , but one day i power on the hypptv device, it performed "auto update" itself..................then all apk cannot be used anymore, i try to reinstall back, facing the issue same as yours

this new box no need to do this... install any file explorer from playstore and copy any apk to your thumb drive and install to your box.

Got new box today, 6108v8. Connected to wifi, signed in to playstore, but then playstore doesn't work. (Error retrieving from server)
tried to move the ethernet cable away from port 4, wifi cannot connect. but internet is ok (it uses the cable only now). Open playstore, voila! it works. Then install everything I need normally.

Then after that, switch back the ethernet cable to port 4 to enable back hypptv. Wifi is working again, and playstore is also working.
Hypptv & kodi works That's all I need for now

i managed to install iflix, but it requesting username and password, any ideas? it doesn't required me to set username and password on my mobile or pc

i have new hypp tv white box android i was installing play store apps , but suddenly the box give me message and start to update automatically , after that restart nd flash every thing tm they remove all apps now i cant see play store and i cant root hypp tv , any more idea??
now when u want to root hypp tv they will ask the password any body knows the password for 4 characters ??

I am using white box hypp tv. They have remove playstore in new device and cannot install anything. Anyone facing this issue?

Yes, some user have the same issue. According to them this is due to the new firmware update from TM will auto remove the playstore and block any installation.
This is maybe due to high customer request on warranty or to solve problem when they messed up their box.
