QUOTE(Candy12 @ Oct 15 2020, 01:29 PM) Not only Puchong, even in Ipoh and Northern region also experienced slowdowns and ping rates increased since Sunday. Yeah, my situation is similar like urs, but yesterday night get worst, currently im using 300mbps package, but I unable to stream the youtube video at 1080p smoothly, but starting from midnight, the situation seems resolved edi. No more high ping and the speed back to usualMost people won't noticed it but for me even a rise in >3ms on average to my connections or a drop of 1/5(20%) of regular speed around the world, I would know there's something going on behind their network. Do a traceroute to one of Maxis's DNS servers and see which one has a spike in latency. The first 1-3 hops are your router and gateway, ignore that. Post the results here and omit the first-third hops. Refer to my post in this thread 1 page back. The problem at my end seems fine now but many of their links especially Europe has increased in latency quite a bit. Used to get 160-170ms to Italy now getting like 180-190ms. Latency to Germany/France used to be 180-90ms, now getting as high as 225-250ms. Pings to Maxis test server from Ipoh here on a good day should get around 5ms but if I see it rises to 8-10ms and above I'd know there's something bad happening already. Either there's a sharp rise in traffic over the weekend, Maxis's network is currently being DDoSed, they're trying to implement surveillance DPI devices in their network or upgrade maintenance works. Rise in traffic is probably not the issue because I'm conducting the network performance tests even at early hours randomly in the morning such as 3am-5am and still saw average increases in latency happening around the world. |

QUOTE(Candy12 @ Oct 15 2020, 03:28 PM) Maxis is probably doing something to their edge routers/servers which they're not telling the public even their own customer service staffs don't know about it. The source of the problem is some of their nodes suddenly becomes unresponsive and dropping packets.I know this wasn't congestion becuase at 1am-6am random ping test also showing abnormal ping rates and packet drops. Fuuu, everything you said I only can understand half of it, you really a hacker material Few days back starting from Sunday afternoon, their 3rd hop already getting as high as 15-20ms which is what I'll get to a Singapore server(12-18ms) but this is just local Maxis own internal node IP which usually no more than 5-6ms. Today seems fine. Latency to South Italy about 155-160ms which is normal. Latency to London about 185-190ms. Anything above those figure is signs of abnormality. I just had a conversation with Maxis technical team, was told Maxis currently experiencing nationwide network issue, they’ve aware about this issue since yesterday night and they are working to resolve this asap. Hopefully this time they really going to fix the issue, sudah tak boleh tahan. My ping start to keep spiking to 200ms range after every few second again. And download speed on speedtest only can achieve 150 mbps.Few days back starting from Sunday afternoon, their 3rd hop already getting as high as 15-20ms which is what I'll get to a Singapore server(12-18ms) but this is just local Maxis own internal node IP which usually no more than 5-6ms.
