You didn't mention anything about a light tripod? If so, then you have tons of options to choose from: Manfrotto, Sirui, Fotopro, Jusino

If you intend to take the tripod onto the beach... make sure you can strip the legs apart and clean it of all the fine sand..

Maybe just go to YLcamera store and see the tripods yourself. Sirui is quite good for your price range. Manfrotto does not have much for less than RM1K.

One tip. Your d750 combined with lens are big. So get a big and sturdy one. Dont get one that looks like for compact camera. Also check the tripod weight limit.

I think your current tripod is the really lousy type, freebie quality (those rm50 types?).

For the tripod legs, just need something thicker and sturdy, but most importantly for your case is getting a good ballhead that's rated for the weight of the equipment.

Even a RM200 tripod will suffice. Usually you pay more for lighter weight, higher quality materials and better features..

You saw it at Lowyat Plaza? When was that?

I was eyeing it before as it was like the CHEAPEST carbon fibre tripod I've ever seen and the weight is just so light at 1.1kg? Plus, the height of 160cm is pretty good considering the weight!

But I might still get this though...Beike Q999s tripod because of the cheap price.

http://www.gstrapinuse.com/index.php?main_...products_id=937

I currently have a Beike 471 tripod [150cm,2kg] and it's really STABLE and solid but the weight is just too much of a burden...

First of all, check what is causing the vibration. Is it the head or the tripod? If the tripod does not shake but the head does, then just replace the head. Or you can try weigh down the tripod by hooking/tying up your bags underneath it. It should have a hook underneath since it claim to support 14kg, though probably false advert.

If all fails, then replace the whole tripod but bear in mind, cheap, small or travel tripods probably won't do any better if your camera has one powerful mirror slap. Don't look at overall height based on column length but rather the legs height. Try looking for tripods with hook underneath that can add to better stabilization if needed.

Close to 2 years already, bought at mid 2013. Nothing to complaint much, it is doing the work it should be.
The shop is at 1st floor(center is the shop selling phones, same floor with the book store).
I bought this as it can be a monopod.

I use the Q999s. Nice big ball head, makes adjustment easy with pressure control esp when you are using a heavy or long setup. It and can hold up my 400mm Novoflex with no issues.. all parts in the legs can be strip and clean if you use it at the beach..

The monopod is not super great. But I have never use a monopod before so my opinion could err..

I will suggest you to test it out first.
Anyway, this type of tripod are quite convenient to expand/retract as it is using screw type. Some are using clip type and that is not that good.

I still see my Buffalo perform better than this.
And this is using clip type to expand/retract, not that good and also the head have to buy separately. No way.

Clip or screw depends on personal preference. Clip is better because you can tell when its locked. A bit hard to tell if using screws and if not screwed tightly will accidentally collapse the legs. However screws are a lot easier to expand the legs.

I started with clip type of tripod. And when it fold up, the surface area are slightly bigger.
But I agree with you that the risk behind on screw type. That's why I always press it when it is expanded just to verify the screws are tight enough.

I personally own a screw tripod and i cant tell you how annoying it is when after collapsing all the legs (for fast picture capture), i keep forgetting to screw them tight, having the tripod almost flip over. Temporary solution is to mark them (like the dots on the lens and mount) on the screw for quick visual check before setting up. Buffalos clips are a joke though so dont go for that one if possible.

So far so good, not problem at all. If not mistaken there's a rubber base for it also. Already few months never use tripod, only using it for group photos.
But as said, try to survey for the best price. That time I bought list price is rm350-400(forgot the price) and when doing payment, it is rm900 sweat.gif
Then try it and see does it fit your needs or not.

FYI most of the are OEM from the few same factory in China. What is important is the bigger the ball the more sturdy will be the grip. best if you can get one that you can regulate the pressure on the ball. It make a big difference.. You can also get them as after market modification but be prepared to pay as much as the tripod for a good ball head.

If you do macro photography or use long lens (>300mm) best to get the biggest tripod you are prepared to carry or afford.. I have several sitting in my cupboard that has fail the acid test because I did not do my homework..

Try and get something reliable like http://www.techradar.com/reviews/cameras-a...-1028379/review

It's made in Italy and should be under RM800 (maybe slightly more) if you hunt around. I got mine for RM550 (tripod) and RM300 (for the head). Trust me you don't want to waste your money on lousy tripod. Used a Jusino before, the leg collapsed while I was shooting sunset at the beach. Luckily I hang the camera around my neck, very close to fall in the water sweat.gif

Only downside of this tripod is its freaking heavy. Haha

manfrotto 055 are not seawater friendly.... or not even water friendly. the cliplock will jam if not taken care properly

*edit:
tbh, i was manfrotto fanboy, 5 years ago i research and lead me to benro travel angel tripod, and one time pain, i burn my pocket to buy my first tripod, benro c2691 B1... LOVES IT (value better then manfrotto). 2 week ago, a friend of mine wanted to grab a tripod, and i did some research for him. recommended him fotopro(which is better then many other brand like jusino and sirui for many reasons) MGC-684N + 62Q, a rm1.2k carbon travel pod... lucky his CC got rejected which lead me to (long time didnt research benro) stumble upon benro again, and.... benro still the cheapeat value for money and quality pod! although its a very very old model (they did minor revision improvement over it everyyear) i will still highly recommend benro C2691-B1 around rm900.
(they did replace it with travel angel 2, detonate by last digit, eg, C2692 as 2nd gen, but are more expensive)

to me, manfrotto are overprice marketing... many of my friend spend 1k+ and they break down after few 'ocean' shooting session. and their ballhead sucks big time... not smooth at all, my manfrotto friends after tested Benro B1 head, all fell in love with it, and its cheaper then manfrotto with same spec.

these video are 4-5 years old. and they are not benro commercial video, those are real live review vids. manfrotto dont even come close to it.

reason why benro are good, they are the pioneer of travel-size pod. while others like jusino copied it blandly. although benro is a China Company, its run by American.
one major reason i prefer benro is the pivot leg clip (the clips when u bend down your tripod legs and to lock in position)... sirui and jusino uses Spring-base clip. my friend with sirui didnt realized it, went shooting in sea water with me, the spring rust and broke. now his sirui is totally useless. benro are pressure clip. so no rusty parts. it is very very important if the tripod important parts are non rusty-able (not sure whats the word to use)
2nd reason, many brand pair their tripod with useless ballhead. (except fotopro which has good ballhead too, but they are more expensive)... why spend rm300 on lousy ballhead while the benro B1 (look at video above).

i dip my benro tripod into sea water about 30times a year... and cleaned it...erm 15 times?... benro tripod can be easily open up for self service. and easily put back together and works like new (and fotopro too, that why i recommended fotopro to my friend)... i brought my tripod to japan backpacked for 10 days, taiwan backpacked for 14 days(shot landscape under rain and big wind), Australia melbourne semi backpacked for 14 days... its acceptable weight to me.

ohyea, the benro tripod is similar to what KIMSIM show, i think his model is C168+B0?

for mirrorless user can consider the C0691 and C1691... super small and super lightweight anddd super tough.
