I maybe wrong but another reason for the fund suspension is also because the calculation for dividend is done before the financial year actually ends. I'm no accountant but that can't be easy. Other UTMC calculate dividend after the financial year ends and does not pay out dividends on the 1st day of the new financial year.
*
Since dividend is calculated based on min bal in the mth, they need to impose 'cut-off' date to calculate the dividend amt

an interesting observation.

saw an old lady probably 60s topping up 5k for her ASW while another makcik in her 40s was planning to topup her ASD.

meanwhile a young man probably in his 30s withdrew 2k from his AS1M

Did u top up?

I don't think whyee is scare-mongering too. He is merely posting what he experienced. Tq to whyee.

NO problem at all in my activity.

For the helpful forummers here who carry a view that the ASM is still viable, please visit your branches asap if you wished to top-up or open booklet. I have made some divestments !

Good luck.

Hi smartinvestor01, appreciated your replies every now and then.

Following are my reasons. Counter-comment if you like, others too :-

So many risks to undertake in the coming months ahead :-

1) risk of changing from Fixed Price into Variable Price from 01/01/2016.
2) risk of not having sufficient time to redeem before and after the date above.
3) risk of being taxable from 01/01/2017 onwards.
4) risk of the dividend being lowered, which makes the investment not worth the risks anymore.
5) risk of the RM weakening further which makes the dividend that we earn losing its purchasing power.
5) risk of other things happening due to the Gov't not having enough funds for use - one must remember that at the end of the day, this is NOT an FD.

May not be happy to take ALL the above risks anymore for a reducing dividend from 6.40%, if we are to take the latest rate given for the ASW2020 as reference.

U have a peace of mind ahead rclxms.gif

No such thing as inactive account. Ask the officer before. If I never topup/withdraw for >7 years, nothing will happen to my money right?
Ans : nothing.

Instead of listen to officer, better read Unclaimed Moneys Act 1965

Bear in mind that unit trust is bleeding now due to bad economy. As far as I know, ASW2020 still give good returns. Many people lose money by simply following agent advise. Agent only care about commission. Each transcation you do through them, they earn 2% regardless you make a loss or profit.

U still need to exercise own judgment b4 proceed with investment

And yet, you don't see ASX bleeding yet. Wonder could it be their reserve or "don't worry, be happy"? If is their reserve, how many rounds can their reserve last? 5 years or only 2 years?
*
ASW have been c/f its reserves from 1996 to 2015 or 19 years
During 19 years, it went thru 1997/98 n 2007/08 crisis n still stand Tall
Wat say u? hmm.gif

Extending the above to ASX, with many ASX sellers now, will that improve the NAV as the units in circulation is less?
I guess not. Units for the NAV are those in circulation AND also which ASNB is holding. Right?
I must be day dreaming? Ha.

Nope

Let me enlighten
Approved fund size (AFS) - total units tat can b issued
Units in circulation (UIC) - total units tat have been issued n floating in the market
Take note tat AFS can b increase from time to time subject to application by ASNB and approval by SC
