check your course requirements. If there is no mac based software thats required of you (Logic X, Final Cut Pro, etc) then you can proceed getting a PC.
Main thing is high RAM, and good processor. Do consider SSD hard disks too as for audio tracking you will be read/writing alot. Most PCs these days can handle it so shouldnt be a problem.
As for soundcard, dont worry as you still have to spend to buy a seperate audio interface for it.
