QUOTE(InfiniteVoid @ Oct 6 2006, 09:10 AM) Yes, feeding mealworms won't turn your hamster aggressive. I hand feed my hamster mealworms. She know which is my finger and which is the mealworm. She won't accidently bite it. The funny thing is, she close her eyes and sniff for the mealworm without biting me I feed her cricket too. She is still tame. So don't worry. Further more, if you feed chicken (cooked), your hamster also won't turn aggressive. QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Oct 6 2006, 12:50 PM) You feed chicken, fish, beef, bones, mealworms, crickets... won't go aggressive, that is just a myth lah. Why follow a myth? If read books, can feed meat and eggs... this gives high protein, makes the fur glossier and grow better quality. Also, it gives hamster the chubbiness. hmm.... ok then... mayb i'll buy a few mealworms and let them try.... my hamsters dont seem to have instinct la... when i open the cage, first thing they do is to jump out and wonder around.... when i handfeed them kuaci or other food, they dont even bother.... why is this??...It is the upbringing and breeding of the hamster. If petshop hamsters, they got high chance of biting since they got bad experience with people or have never been held before. Animals do not become aggressive from eating any sort of meat. i realise only female syrian hamster will store up food... male hamsters dont bother if u give them food when they are not hungry... they only look for food when hungry... otherwise, dont bother.... anyone has similar experiece with ur hammies??... |

dont feed them so much lo... when they are hungry, they are forced to eat whatever stuff they have in the cage.... hahaha...
hamsters are choosy animals... they eat what they like only... and they eat halfway only.... the only way is.... when u clean their bedding, remove uneaten food from the cage so can be fed to them again lo... no wastage mah.... hahaha... |

QUOTE(kembara @ Dec 6 2006, 11:29 AM) yaya... its consider small for syrians.... but coz i'm from ipoh and studying in malacca, i need to take all my hamsters back home every holiday... so, a bigger cage will be troublesome to me....alwiz suit me first before thinking of them... muahahaha... i'm so evil... QUOTE(joanalooidog @ Dec 6 2006, 02:39 PM) jz call out their name, they will come out... haha... joking... but my syrians do appear when i call out their name, if they escaped....my hamster escaped few times adi.... somehow, when i call out their name, they can be sighted nearby.... dun worry la... put ur cage on the floor with the doors open... leave the room closed all the time.... and when u got free time, go and search the whole room inside out lor... |

QUOTE(mustang @ Dec 13 2006, 10:04 PM) Just a quick question. When I want to bath my hamsters, do I have to take them out one by one and put them in a bowl filled with sand so that they can take their bath? OR put the bowl inside the cage and let them handle the rest? jz put the sand bowl inside and let them do their business lar... after 1 or 2 hours later den remove it lor....if u pick them out, they wont bath on the spot ler.... like my hamsters, when i take them out, even sunflower seed also dont wanna eat... all the want is freedom.... |
