yeap, syrians dont roll in sand baths... they only dig n dig n dig... thats why i changed mine to cat litter... 5kg for rm15.... much much cheaper compare to sand bath.... it isnt smelly and can use as potty.... my hamster pee on it only... haha....

syrians dont roll around arr... but they groom themselves quite often....

can kua... not sure though.... but since they arent rolling on it, i guess its safe la....
another cheap solution is, u go and buy children playing sand (not sure where got) lor...

true true... it is dusty, thats why it is not recommended for them to roll in... i give them to pee in it only....

nice hammies u got there.... so cute... beware, when they start fighting till draws blood, remember to separate them...
if 1 male 1 female, usually wont fight till serious la... they only fight seriously when the female is pregnant...
if 2 male house together, confirm one day later will fight, no matter how big is the cage....
if 2 female house together, not sure la... my friend's 2 female hamster, do fight occasionally... but havent draw blood la...
my 2 males fight till vr serious ohh.... stomach all got scar.... eyes and mouth also got scar... haha... now separate adi, both of them vr lazy adi... everyday sleep saja...

supply them with basic stuff is cheap maintainence la...
but if u like to add toys in the cage and let them eat good stuff, can be quite expensive as well....

uhh... jz now i put my hamster on my bed, den i fall asleep...
when i woke up, he is lost... search up and down around my room also tarak....
went out and find, saw him running around the cabinet where i keep him... hahaha....

haha.. urs good lo... will fall asleep with master... he escaped when i fell asleep... before i fall asleep, he wasnt moving... so i thought let him lepak awhile more lo...

i also have an old hamster... about 2 yrs of age... he doesnt play the wheel anymore... everyday sleep, eat, drink, poo, and bite cage.... his fingernails all gone adi (i also dunno why).... when i purposely make him fall, he doesnt wanna climb up and jz fall down on my hand.... lately he doesnt eat much adi... even his past time favourite kuaci also dun like jor... i also dunno how la....

anyway, my other hamster...

jz let them eat more kuaci... hahaha...
lately they are getting fatter n fatter... coz they are getting lazier n lazier... they only awakes at about 4am and doze off at about 7am....
rest of the time, eat n sleep only.... hahaha...

nope, he didnt make any sound... when he is active, he bites the cage quite aggressively...
the only thing worries me is that his fingernails gone and he eats less.... i've already cut down the amount of kuaci given to him... at least now he is active and doesnt sleep whole day long....

possible also... coz sifoo sifoo say hamster fingernail too long can cause pain to them....

if u like to hold them around, syrians are good choice lo... but if u jz like to watch them, RC or WW is better lo...

pros n cons about syrians:
- size suitable to handle him around
- easily tamed
- big, lost also can be found easily
- maintainence cost high
- they eat more
- cages need to be bigger
- can only be housed alone
- they beranak alot as well

present for them arr???... err...
later give them a kiss... no money buy things for them lar... hahaha... or mayb some oats as treats...

after that they change position to sleep... the female is now on top of the male...

yealer... different species cannot live together ler.... besides, syrians are much bigger than other species, sure gonna be big bully....

at least u still can lure him using food... mine not even interested in food... they only eat when they are hungry... they dont stack up piles of food like my female syrians do... those males are lazy bum, only wakes up and eat whenever they are hungry...

my male syrians dont even want their food when i feed them using hand... they only walk to the bowl and eat from there when they are hungry.... damn lazy...

my syrians dont even run... they wakes up at night, lepak around... groom themself from top to bottom... makan abit, drink abit... go back to sleep...

sometimes got bite cage la... but hardly run....

i'm going back hometown for a week during coming cny.... somehow i reluctant wanna take all my hamsters back because cny my house got many people... plus, i need to fetch my friends back as well...
all 4 of my hamsters has separate cages and they all occupy the whole back seat... thats why i wonder if can leave them unattended for a week....

of coz, i will give more food for them to last a week and make sure the bottle flows without dripping... can ar??.. i dont know any locals here in malacca willing to take care all 4 of my hamsters...

i've surveyed and monitored their drinking habit... their water bottle can last few weeks... only 1 is using smaller bottle, so i gonna buy him another bottle jz incase he finish it...

yeah, all my cages are placed indoors... no cats or dogs or other pets to worry about... dogfood, my housemate got bela dog, can curi come from him... wuakakkakaa...
