Key paragraph...

"He affirmed that Pindad would cooperate with Rheinmetall of Germany to produce tank ammunition, with FNSS of Turkey to develop medium-sized tanks, and also with Cockerill Maintenance & Ingenierie SA Defence (CMI) to produce 90mm and 105mm caliber turrets."

AK-47 doesn't require very precise machining standard, should be easy to build if you have standard metal stamping tools

those arent AK, but type 81

sound like im nitpicking here but AK mechanism is different from type 81. type 81 firing mechanism is more similar to SKS, but with full auto capability

K2 looks like have a nicely designed turret....unlike Abrams and other tanks....the front part of the turret is thinner vertically....but quite thick horizontally when seen from above. The armor blocks seems to end just in front of the commander and gunner sights

Seoul forced to re-tender KFX bidding

By: GREG WALDRONSINGAPORE

Seoul has been forced to re-tender its bid for a developmental contract related to the country’s KFX fighter aircraft programme.

Since only one bidder, Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), showed up to submit a bid on Monday 9 February, procurement laws have forced a retendering of the programme, says a report by state news agency Yonhap.

Yes....can't be overly optimistic with KFX program it can end in failure.....but the money planned for 50 units of KFX can be used to purchase other models....

KFX is planned as the replacement for Hawk 209/109 and will represent 3 squadrons. Other models could be selected, if KFX fails

You are correct. Inaccurate reporting there by the writer. And yes Indonesia ordered 3 Type 209 from South Korea.
*
Possibly....two more ordered in Renstra 2...

Three CBG subs are the biggest acquisition in MEF Renstra 1.... about $1 billion

Those Western contribution with airstrike won't mean a thing.

This is not a conspiracy theory....but a peaceful Middle East with harmonious relations between its nations is actually a scary environment for Israel and US.

It's just common sense.....

That's Singapore upgraded version of earlier leopard 2A4 with added extra Armour to side of tracks cover and for the turret's front, side and rear. The armour seems really thick, no other mbt extended the side to that much until it can add another set of wheels, return rollers & track on each side
*
Leopard 2SG is essentially Leopard 2A4 with AMAP armor add-ons.

Leopard Revolution is a more comprehensive upgrade by KMW with significant internal changes....

KASAD TERIMA 2 KAPAL LCU DAN 2 TUG BOAT HASIL KARYA ANAK BANGSA
Kepala Staf TNI Angkatan Darat Jenderal TNI Gatot Nurmantyo menerima penyerahan alutsista baru berupa dua buah Kapal pendarat serbaguna 1000 Dead Weight Tonnage (DWT) yaitu KM ADRI XLVIII dan ADRI XLIX, dan dua buah Tug Boat yaitu AD1 dan AD2, serta suku cadang dari PT. Putrindo Adiyasa Perkasa di Galangan II PT. Dok Kodja Bahari Tanjung Priok, Rabu (18/2).

Adapun spesifikasi kapal KM ADRI XLVIII dan ADRI XLIX yaitu memiliki panjang 68 meter, lebar 13,50 meter, tinggi geladak 5,70 meter, sarat air 2,75 meter.

(Dispenad)

Iraq's T-72 was good enough to counter Chieftain, AMX-30, Pattons and Centurions of the neighboring countries....They aren't supposed to encounter next generation MBTs like Abrams and Challenger.

T-72M series are export models.....the T-72B series much better protected

Jew reported it. Bounce the turret and frontal hull

Yes...guns derived from the popular British's L7 design...like the M68 can't penetrate most T-72 variants.

Need guns derived from Rheinmetall 120mm design...like M256 gun on Abrams

If not we will be seeing 4th gen with 150mm gun

Well...150mm gun will need a longer barrel and the tank may become somewhat unwieldy. With normal length...it may become a medium-velocity gun

The tech should exist already, but that kinda big-ass gun needs even big-ass turret, so proly in the end you get something ass-ugly like this:

Adding 150mm gun is very possible. sIG is used extensively by German in early WW2....it is mounted on the small PzKw I chassis. But with such a short barrel, it is effectively a mobile artillery; can't hope to penetrate tanks like T-34

Frogmen Beware: New Russian Underwater Grenade Launcher Hits IDEX-2015 © Photo: Wikipedia / Vitaly V. Kuzmin

Russia's JSC Bazalt has announced that it has launched mass production of the DP-64 "Nepryadva" double-barrel anti-sabotage grenade launcher, following an order from Russia's Defense Ministry, the head of the company's Science and Engineering Department, Pavel Sidorov told RIA Novosti.

"The DP-64 is currently in mass production. In 2014 we got a sizable order from the Ministry of Defense, I can't disclose its exact volume and what units it will be supplied to, but it's for the Navy," Sidorov, the company's representative at the IDEX 2015 international defense expo in Abu Dhabi, UAE, told the agency.

The grenade launcher is designed for the protection of ships from combat divers (frogmen) while on external raids, open anchorages and naval bases, as well as the protection of water-based structures, sea platforms such as oil rigs, and other important coastal and off-shore facilities. The grenade launcher's maximum effective range is 400 meters.

Previously, the DP-64 grenade launcher, which is capable of firing at underwater targets, was only made in small batches for ship-based naval infantry, some units of the Federal Protective Service and the Russian Coast Guard, which is part of the FSB's border guard service.

The DP-64 was developed in 1989 at the V.A. Degtyarev Plant in Kovrov, Vladimir region. It entered service in 1990.
