Hi I'm new here - just got a 3 month old husky not long ago - she's really smart and cute but a bit trying tho. she lives in the hse with us - toilet training is killing us!!

Also she seems to itch all the time - no skin patches yet but I'm quite worried - anyone know if this is normal? I gave her tick and flea med that you put on the dogs' shoulder blades but this doesn't seem to be like fleas... I'm really stumped. help will be nice sad.gif

It could be mange as well, I recommend the vet Healing Pets in Damansara Jaya, behind Public Bank. My Husky used to have the very same problem, but it's now sorted.

Will you guys be going to the dog event thingy on the 24/9/06 at Bandar Utama? PM me for my MSN.

if pet normally dont need cert cause more expensive

but make sure u see the sire and dam

make sure they're in good condition

dont bring back a sick baby
make sure the puppy is very healty and active

coat markings all sure need to see lo...dont get a not pure breed for a pure breed price

it's more as a pet,but wouldnt mind getting a show quality husky happy.gif

they are pedigrees with certs, priced from rm1800-2300,which is cheap, considering shops sell them at rm3k! laugh.gif

the breeder said depending on the markings, different price...how do they judge the markings, anyone know? unsure.gif

lolz, i see, where is he from?? anyway you juz need to jaga jaga abit with the health condition of the puppy lo...but let me tell you something lo...the markings for now is not so important cause they shed once or twice a year which is very very terrible shedding....therefore the coat and markings will change sometimes a little but sometimes very very big difference...like mine, when i got her back, she was a different coat and markings....now its different only after 1 time shedding....so dont get bull shit by them....anyway i''ll be honest with you lo....cert doesn't mean high quality dog, if its breed by someone irresponsible, then they might be in bad condition.... and also normally price = quality....like where i buy my husky, they wont even drop their price by a single cents, and they will proudly tell you, if you wanna compare my dog with the 2k+ dog then you go get from them....cause they're husky is very well known and he's so far the only breeder who wins with husky (for show dog, even though previously there was another husky show dog by another breeder) and you can see, that their dog is really really nice

hi Mgsrulz

welcome to the club.

My advice, huskies are pack dogs, they dun like to be lonely so never keep her in the toilet where they just see the four walls. Not a good idea and when they are upset, they can be very descructive....so bear in mind, dun get angry and start whacking them.

If you have cats at home, introduce them slowly. Adult cat or kitten? if kitten, they can grow up together and they will be okie with each other. if you have an adult can, better not la....sure fight and try to introduce them slowly la.....do u have a cage? if not try to invest one....or borrow from ur frend......they grow very fast and the next thing u know, the cage is too small oledi.....

btw, my husky stay indor, and already toilet trained, he wont poo at home and will wait till we take him out for his walk.....if he is at home, he will pee int he toilet only unless he is throwing his tantrums.....to tell u that he is not happy....

husky are working dog and they need a lot if exercise...if not, they can be very descrutive and noisy.....so be in mind..... rclxms.gif tongue.gif biggrin.gif

good abt husky is that they dun smell.....and keep them dry and if they are wet, they tend to get skin problem.....rmember, they are double coated...so when they shed, ur hse is full of fur...remember FULL of furs..... rclxms.gif rclxub.gif

dun socialise ur dig befor he gets his 3rd vaccination / jab.....

u can call me if u need any info, 013-3338777 (Lau)

have fun with ur new family member....maya is a good name, the lead dog in the "8 Below".......movie

cheers

not a problem with me...
used to seeing my stuff get destroyed...

i already have a monster in my room tongue.gif all my posters have been torned,my tv is full of fur,and my mosquito netting is probably the next to go sweat.gif

and about whacking her,i dont whack my pets smile.gif
unless they are being naughty(ie fighting) i will just nudge them, not whack tongue.gif

i got 34 cats,adults mostly,but some are still in their "teens" happy.gif

most of them are alright with her already thumbup.gif
only some are still abit scared of her..(they arent very hostile, cos just a month ago,my mother bought a cavalier, and so they're more or less used to new company)

i have a few...but all for the cats.
i dont feel like putting her in a cage, cos even at 2 months, she is as big as my 6 month old cavalier! sweat.gif laugh.gif

how did you train him? huh.gif
i dont have a clean access to the toilet(unless in rooms or outside the kitchen) so i need some other alternative..(still not sure at the moment doh.gif )

btw,how old is your husky?

i took Maya out for a short walk just now...(called my pet's vet,he said to stay clear of any dirt/other dogs and if possible stay on pavements, which i did...tough work sweat.gif )
she walked and ran for a few minutes(not sure how long) and i had to carry her back home laugh.gif still young, easily tired..
cant wait till she's older, can go exercising everyday flex.gif

i have a problem with that.

Maya seems to love putting her paw in the water bowl, and splashing water all over the place.
is this common?
what could it mean?she is hot?

Why'd you black out the background? You didn't buy it from a poacher did you, with all the heads and feet of animals in the background?!

How about putting up more pictures of your puppy, which I'm sure you've taken lots of pics. I did tongue.gif

What a lovely Husky you have there, you'll love her when she grows big and grand!

Incidentally, does anyone have problem with their dogs hind legs? Mine's like in a 'V' shape sad.gif Apparently it's due to the fact that it's a house dog and the floor's slippery for them to grip.
