@GNR, how different? You suddenly pique my interest ediĀ  tongue.gif

No idea on maintenance, I guess we'll both find out soon. laugh.gif

This is purely my opinion - there's only so much all car manufacturers can do for certain colours, like white, black, silver to differentiate their colours. But colours like red, blue, green etc can be lighter or darker (infinite number of colour tones), so in a way they will always be unique. Like Peugeot's red is dark red, Volkswagen's is bright chilli red and so forth. Without comparing them side by side, I already know the difference. But I won't be able to tell the difference between a white honda and a white vios until I put them side by side, but even then will it make a huge difference? Not much. There's no such thing as light white or dark white.

when i saw gray and white, thinking to change color
but feel that soul red is unique, so remain unchanged thumbup.gif

Few years down the road, if you're still keeping your car, you can always re-spray to whatever colour you want.

actually no 6, the system is made up of quite a few modules

the one i want is the one where if can detect cars in ur blind spot on ur side mirrors
*
Hmm I don't know about you, but after driving in a Wira for almost 10 years which is a car which has the worst blind spot for its side mirrors, I find this totally not necessary, but that's just me. Perhaps I've developed some sort multitasking skill to look at both front of the car and blind spots of the car while changing lanes. But also knowing my mentality, I've always trusted my eyes more than sensors so I always use my eyes as much as I can usually haha.

AFAIK, only bidden numbers and numbers that fall under JPJ category of attractive & popular number will be charged extra, the rest all rm210.

best way is to walk in any JPJ branch & register for MySikap.

Then you can login online mysikap & buy any number for rm210, be sure to buy right after the alphabet is release for public purchase, then you can get all the nice number for just rm210. Me, my colleague & my families all got 322, 928, 938 for just rm210.

However, all prime, attractive & popular numbers below will not be available in mysikap.

to be specific, i mean this headlamp

I wanted to test out the peugeot 208 and kia rio but didn't had the time. Peugeot's reliability is in question as a friend of mine wasted almost 80% of his annual leave into his peugeot. Not sure whether he's unlucky or wat. The kia on the other hand I must give it a try soon.(when I collect my 2)

I'm still praying hard mazda sc to not disappoint me n s well s their spare parts stock.

I think the segment/class to compare would be

As a small hatch car:

Our mazda2 hb vs fiesta vs rio vs jazz vs Polo vs 208

I'm not comparing them with city or vios or Almera as to me it's in a different segment.

Out of topic abit but somehow proton is a grade lower. Iriz vs mazda2 is like....Cannot laaaa...

I gave the iriz a chance due to overwhelming reviews n being compared even to the golf.. but it's.....sheer disappointment. The car to be compared to the iriz would be the myvi. Thts the iriz rightful place!
*
No idea about the 208 reliability issues, but 308 is known for its issues with its turbo (constant depollution issues). That's why aftermarket it is selling for very cheap. I was targetting that car at first but after doing some research, it's not worth the money and effort to maintain the car. However the 408 is using a different 1.6 turbo engine than the 308. So if you're looking for a peugeot, get the 408 or you can get the NA version of the 308 (VTI). And like you've rightfully put it, maintenance of a conti car is of course much more than a Jap car.

If you really need info on spare parts stock of Mazda, you can go to the Mazda 3 car club and ask our bros there. If I remember correctly, someone pointed out that spare parts availability of Mazda used to be shit (long time ago), but considering the amount of Mazdas that are being sold here since the past few years, Mazda spare parts availability is not an issue anymore (especially since Mazda started producing the cars locally CKD, there should be plenty of spare parts). I don't remember reading/hearing any complaints on this as well. As for the price, it's generally known to be slightly more expensive than Honda/Vios, same goes with the maintenance.

Oh shit sorry, I meant the 308 turbo. Hahaha. Better edit my post, thanks for pointing out.

Remember to check the paint job.
I saw in the showroom, the red & gray sedan got orange peel paint very obvious only at bottom of the doors after curve line, but not so obvious for white sedan. SA told me is like that one bsc to protect paint scratches from the stones since the bottom of the door near to road surface hmm.gif
*
Wtf, then the reason why it's also near the "SKYACTIV Technology" is because people see the badge so nice, so will want to touch it. Therefore it will protect scratches from people's finger nails.

QUOTE(terion @ Feb 26 2015, 11:45 AM)
from the place i did the coating, the boss there say mazda has the worst orang peel problem, even on m3, m6 and cx5 after he done some many cars
on another note, just pump full tank today using RON95

FC for prev tank is 32.49MPG or 13.81km/l or 0.07l/km
used 36.56l for 505km using VPower Racing

lets see how much difference using RON95 will have this time...

QUOTE(terion @ Feb 26 2015, 12:49 PM)
the paint is not smooth, like lack of the clear lacquer to smoothern the paint

u see the spot light reflection off the car? its not smooth, all kedut-kedut like orange peel

now compare that to this

http://smg.photobucket.com/user/renoclio/m...bf866b.jpg.html

see how smooth the reflection is

Check this out. And then you look at the earlier link tht i posted on Mazda2. You can find similarities.

Kedut kedut is the best way to decribe it. Blurish.
*
Coating is supposed to cover the kedut kedut? Can I return the car to the SA because of this? Not fair leh, new car is supposed to be very shiny. Not kedut kedut.

Seems like different showroom got different terms for the insurance. I wanna ask those of you who buy insurance (not transfer from your old car), did your SA say compulsory must buy their (Berjaya Sompo) insurance? Or any insurance will do? hmm.gif
*
QUOTE(mahcyen @ Feb 27 2015, 03:43 PM)
Yea, at first, my SA also keep insist me to buy their insurance, he keep saying Mazda is like that, 1st year must buy their insurance, then 2nd year feel free to change other insurance company.

But in the end I insisted to buy my own insurance, then he ok with that.

I think maybe they got commission for the insurance (but SA told me they do not get commission, is just company policy). But funny thing is, in the end he allow me to do so. Haha.
*
No such thing, screw their company policy. It has nothing to do with customers. But it may be applicable to the SA as they may be pressured to sell Berjaya's own insurance for Berjaya's own cars (which is a logical thing to do).

I remember reading another thread on the benefits of getting Berjaya's own insurance. Something to do that if during the first year your car (touchwood) kena stolen/theft, it will be 1-for-1 replacement, ie you get a brand new car. And if accident (touchwood), claims below RM 10,000 will not require adjuster, resulting in faster claims.

has any owner here test drove the city but still choose M2? can share me your exp? im struggling to get get this or the city..the younger me lean towards the M2 but practical side of ask me to go to city.. how is the maintenance for M2 compare to the city?
*
I'm one of them, and I test drove both of them the same day at Glenmarie (Mazda and Honda are walking distance to each other and Hyundai if you are interested)

Why not test drive both cars for yourself? That's the best way to compare both cars and see whether the small space that people have been mentioning is really small for you. Some people are ok with it, some are not. Space lies in the eyes of the beholder. LOL.

Driving experience definitely the M2, but like what you've mentioned practicality goes to City. So it depends on what YOU want and YOU have to make that decision for yourself. Don't listen too much to what other people say, including me. Like I said go test drive the car.

Doubt anyone knows the maintenance cost now as all M2 comes with free maintenance for 3 years, but it is expected to be slightly more expensive than Toyota and Honda. In any case, it is still a Jap car not a Conti car so it shouldn't blow a hole in your wallet if you can afford the price of the car.

Because i am special~~~~ SA told me not to tell out loud cause i "cut queue". I booked on the 13th Feb(not during the roadshow because of wait and see approach for the confirmation of the headlamp and not during launch because i was mad to see the halogen one with my own eyes at the launch) and nearly got it on the 18th Feb(SA told me very high possibility to get on 18th but turns out her boss bullshited her) so it was delayed a week to 27th Feb. Mere 2 weeks to get my car, not bad right hahaha.

HOWEVER, im hoping and praying hard im not getting a car that was rejected by someone else.

That could also be the reason why my SA asked me to keep it low hahaha

When you say you already got your number, does that mean you chose to pick a number (meaning you paid extra)?

What if I don't care about what number I want? Do I still have to go get it on my own? Or SA will handle?
*
Or you can just do the below (credits to hkenh):-

QUOTE(hkenh @ Feb 17 2015, 06:15 PM)
Correct, just walk into JPJ reception & tell them you wanna register for mysikap.

Within minutes after reading your IC & thumb print they'll issue you a reference number for first time online registration on mysikap.

After that, just login & buy any available number on the system. All states & Wilayah number can be bought.

Key is to check the system daily, once the current number for the alphabet reaches towards above 9800++... new alphabet will be released for public purchase, then you have a high chance of buying a nicer number for a flat price of rm210.

You'll need credit card, or major local banking transfer services like maybank2u for payment.

Hi guys... Been following this thread since last week.. Very informative n fun to read ..

Soon.. M gonna b a new owner of Soul Red Sedan. Booked a day b4 launch day and juz now SA told me that i will get to inspect my car on March 23.

Juz wondering is that combined FC of 5.2L/100km achievable? Or juz on paper claim only?!!!

Mainly, i opt for M2 is for its design and good FC.  SA claimed that its FC gonna be much better than M3 and City.

From what i learned from the FC reported by owner in this thread... Not even close to the claimed figure which is quite worrying.. I expect at least close to M3.

Now the excitement is a bit mellow dy... Hmmm..

Anyway, is there any body kit for M2 Sedan yet? Working on budget allocation while waiting for the car.. what to add on and such.
*
First of all I doubt the claimed FC has taken into account of conditions such as the fact that we don't have i-eloop (which is supposed to improve fuel efficiency), traffic jam and traffic lights aka idle time, varied driving habits (chilled/aggressive), road conditions (have to brake at bumps, higher rev at hills, brake at sharp corners etc), fuel quality of specific countries etc.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but people buy Mazda is because of the driving experience, not so much on the FC. Well at least that's the reason why I chose Mazda because honestly I did not even bother to ask or find out about the FC prior to booking the car. First that caught my attention was the interior which looks like a Alfa Romeo Giulietta, then after it was the power and handling during my test drive, FC and back passenger space was not even part of my consideration (yeah I did not even bother to sit at the back or check the boot).

If M2 has a coupe version and price about the same, I will cancel the sedan and book the coupe now even though I have to wait another 2/3 months.

Yeah there should be a bodykit by Mazda coming soon, if you've gone to the Glenmarie showroom, the M2 displayed there has been fitted with the bodykit which has been shared by someone a few post before this. It's basically black spoiler, black skirting (sides, front and back duh), black rims (sprayed), black side mirror (sprayed).
