Soul Red scheduled for delivery next week, booked early kiasu Oct. Sedan only available in Feb.

TTDI has one. I'm really impressed with the build quality. Very premium, photos doesn't do it justice, hard plastics on some parts but feels very solid when you knock on it. Leather all over but I'm surprised the leather seats are actually tough fabric in the center, about 2 sqft of it. Doors close with a solid thud, so unlike Jap cars esp B segment.
Space is a premium, but snug like a sports car. Red stitching looks very well done, it is miles better than my CBU Swift which I paid the same price 10 yrs ago.
Gripes: door panels seems a bit soft outside, tires looks too Eco friendly. And yes, no LEDs but sit inside and its forgiven.
*
Wait when you say ttdi has one, you mean the sedan version? I'm looking for the sedan and want to look at it in person first before I buy because heard about people saying the hatchback looks very small which I agree as well just by looking at the pictures.

The sedan looks much better in my opinion.

Any showroom which have the sedan version?  I'm more interested in the sedan than the HB.

QUOTE(PeowYong @ Jan 24 2015, 09:50 AM)
no sedan version in Subang Taipan showroom yet, only a red hatchback there..
*
Glenmarie, but it is a Skyactiv Diesel, some specs are not the same with the NA being sold so don't be mistaken. But at least you get to compare the HB and the sedan. No sedan test drive units in any showrooms yet, have to wait for Feb

QUOTE(guilt79 @ Jan 24 2015, 11:02 AM)
I also went there just now..

Very very impressive. Wanna trade in Mazda 3 for this.  hmm.gif

Got sport mode, seat sensor, HUD, 7' Infotainment. Even the dashboard on the stiches is real soft touch. Not like Vios.

anyone know when the white interior version gonna be available?  drool.gif  drool.gif
*
Sorry no white interior to choose. Only the black is sold. Yes I was quite disappointed too when they told me this. Lucifal told me to do aftermarket, hahaha. Maybe I will.

Gonna post here on what I've posted in the other topic

I went to the Glenmarie showroom. Only the sedan can be viewed there but that model is the diesel Skyactiv, so don't be mistaken. It lacks some stuff that the NA version has like paddle shifts. Oh the sedan will only be viewable this weekend only at Glenmarie, it will be moved to another showroom after this weekend.

No sedan version to test drive yet at any showrooms (SA told me February only got sedan units to test drive), only the hatchback is available for test drive at the moment (specs for both are the same and don't mistake it for the diesel show unit there.)

All in all, like what hkenh mentioned above, it is a driver oriented car. I drive alone 99% of the time, so I feel this is the car for me. Power and handling is good (for me at least), finishing is above par against the City (which alot people are comparing to), space of course not duh (but not a problem for me)

I feel that the HB is more suitable for a woman, as it looks small (but SA told me that there's a sport package that's gonna launch soon to have black toned rims and spoilers and skirting with some colour changes, you can view how it looks at the showroom, so the HB with that sport package may look more viable for a guy who still prefer the HB.)

Sedan will be the way to go for guys. As the spec sheet puts that the sedan is about 300mm longer, and the back looks quite similar to the back of Mazda 3 which looks better.

I've booked a Soul Red sedan. March only can deliver, before CNY is impossible

Tested the car too, much more powerful than other b segment car, even more responsive with paddle shift

For 90k if u dunmind the space is smaller, its definitely a good buy, just wanna complain the hard plastic, abit cheap
*
Yeah. Hard plastics and it moves just by pressing it abit. But that's the same with the mazda 3. The previous Mazda 3 had better dashboard quality I think.

new mazda3 is soft plastic

but luckily the interior is black, more classy
*
sweat.gif err yeah but you're comparing a 85k car against a 120k car. The Mazda 2 compared with other cars of similar price tag, I think I can say that it beats its competitors easily in terms of interior and exterior design and looks. But not in terms of practicality with its limited rear space and boot space. As for performance and handling I think it's fairly good, and I loved it very much.

Don't you guys have GPS on your phone? Google maps? Waze? Sygic? Etc? Those are free/cheaper to buy and it gets updated automatically on your phone. Instead of having to update the GPS device separately

I don think got discount bro, I only got full tank petrol plus 300 tinting voucher, what about u
*
It's a newly launched car not even for 1 month yet, I doubt will have any rebates. And according to SA, sales of M2 is doing very good right now, so I guess no reason to give rebate when sales are doing so good. You want rebates, you might have to wait for a few months maybe during festive season like raya.

What?! Booked December only get after CNY? So sorry to hear that bro, but it seems that the soul red is very very popular and bookings for it are overwhelming.

My SA told me that mine's in March (soul red booked in Jan), I told her that I'll be pissed if it comes in April when GST hits so she better deliver.

New technology naturally will cost more initially until it becomes a standard. Meaning every car manufacturer out there will have to start using these kind of batteries for all their models for stop-start tech (economies of scale). For now, it's only a handful of them. Eco engines just started coming up only recently in Malaysia so it will take a few years before it standardises (not sure if it ever will).

We can always use normal maintenance free battery. It only disables iStop.
*
I think it's best that we test out fuel consumption w/ iStop and then w/out (drive for a month with iStop then another month without). Then compare the difference to find out the fuel savings coming from iStop. If the difference in fuel savings does not justify maintaining such an expensive battery, then no point having it, just have a normal battery will do.

We should share this and compare with each other to also see iStop works best for what sort of drivers and whether it is reliable as a fuel saving method in general.

haiz.. might be refunding my down payment for m2 liao..

because of some miscommunication with my SA..

My current ride (persona) was about to be sold to another owner..

SA told me that his loan passed and signed (because i asked the SA to tolong cari banker)

But who knows, the thing that buyer signed that day was just a confirmation form, and loan has yet to be approved.. and i ady paid for m2 down payment..

banker call me today saying that the buyer's father has very poor loan repayment background (kena special attention case liao), her sista (guarantor) have still unsettled personal loan, therefore his chances of passing the loan is very low..

If thats the case, my current ride isnt selling anymore, no point for me to have a new m2.. and selling off to dealer at super low price isnt a very wise choice.. haiz..

sad..
*
At least you still have a car, I haven't had my own car for 6 months aleady laugh.gif . If really getting back your persona, then drive it for a few months first, perhaps M2 will have some promo down the road and you'll get a better deal (hopefully GST won't have such a huge impact). If I still had my own car, I would've waited till M2 facelift come out, I think it will be much more awesome.

Going for a sedan btw...

M2 was just launched in Jan this year, it's still very early. My opinion in descending order - red, white, silver

But why ask for opinion, you should decide the colour for yourself just like how you will decide on whether to buy this car this sat. thumbup.gif

My Sa told me otherwise, that its already in the system, chasis & engine number allocated to individual but pending to be release from port klang one by one. not sure how true is this, Hopefully some1 worked in mazda hq can clarify this.
*
No point speculating. Just wait for them to call you to collect your car. If can't wait then just cancel and look for a different car. I'm sure Mazda wants to deliver them fast, but they just can't due to circumstances out of their control. But yes I agree that sa should not misinform the customer just to close the sale, but knowing how sales work I specifically ask them not to f*ck around with me and tell me the what's the realistic ETA of my car.

I got mine yesterday hb grey . I need an armrest badly ...everything good so far.

ee... I'm a female driver . can't really give a very wise review .XD

1. Not enough compartment . I need armrest sad.gif
2. Car boot sensor show not close on the meter dashboard . try about half an hour only able to fully lock the car . if the car booth close well u will hear a beep sound . not  sure whether only I face this issue. shakehead.gif
3. Foot area bit small
4. sd card read unsuccessfully. I thought is for entertainment media use , after reading others forum found that's for navigation update  . whistling.gif
*
Oh come on. That's the second thing the SA didn't tell me - no armrest. So that's the 2nd thing I will be looking to add to my car other than the boot lid spoiler. Damn..

I'm sure that can be fixed. Probably gonna ask the SC if the grille can be changed. If cannot, then should be able to spray it.

Wow just saw the black colour with red grille on the Mazda 2 facebook owners page. It's so awesome. Why we don't have it here? What's Mazda Malaysia doing?

those who gotten their car, when/how do u guys sign your bank loan agreement? and when/how do u guys give the deposit?

my loan actually passed but they don't required me to sign yet, no down-payment yet as well. Just wonder when will it actually needs me sign those documents? is it when there's car assigned to me? Anything else I need to take note?

Once you get your car, you have to pay the first installment dy, or the installment starts the next month?
Example, u get your car on March, but u start paying ur installment on April?
*
You can sign loan agreement with bank first but don't worry as first instalment will only kick in one month after you've gotten your car (if get car in March, first instalment in April). Down payment will need to be paid when you get allocation of your car by Mazda (allocation happens after you've gotten your loan approved, you will need to inform your SA that you've gotten your loan approved or the bank will inform your SA anyway)

When I was at the showroom, I was contemplating between the red and white. Since white and silver cars are practically everywhere, I went for the red. And Mazda's red is a different kind of red not found on other car brands.
