can anybody fill in the blanks...
as a bumi, i can just go out and buy ASB as long as I have not exceeded my limit of 200,000. I mean I know I cannot go out and just buy Amanah Saham Malaysia (ASM). You have to wait till somebody sells, then you can buy. i can see there are two categories (a) you can buy as much as you want, but limited to a certain amount (asb, limit 200k), can never be sold out, can only be maxed out. (b) you cannot buy if its sold out (ASM). i have three questions. 1. are there other AS(something) that uses rule (a) 2. if there are, what's their average payout for the last 3 years? 3. besides (a) and (b), is there a AS(something) that does not fall in (a) or (b)? thank you Added on April 29, 2008, 12:23 am QUOTE(Darkchild11 @ Apr 26 2008, 06:17 AM) Actually it is possible for u to have ur 200k limit increase. It happen to me..My maximum investment limit is 230k.I how did you do that?personally went n check few months back.. QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Apr 29 2008, 08:39 AM) This is new to me. that still does not answer 3 questionsYes. At ASB, you can buy anytime as long as you have not exceeded the RM200k limit. Added on April 29, 2008, 9:24 am QUOTE(ttwangsa @ Apr 29 2008, 08:46 AM) another questionasb dividend calculated in December say i put in 10k in erm.. October and dividend announced in December is 8% do i get 8% of 10k (800) or i get 3/12 of 8% of 10k (200) because its not there for a full year? anybody doing asw using epf?
it says here http://www.asnb.com.my/english/asw.htm that QUOTE Payment of Redemption On-the-spot, but for EPF Member's Invesment Scheme, redemption amount is payable to EPF only. i think it says if you buy 2k of asw using epf, when you sell your 2k, the money goes back to epf. my question is what about the Net Distribution per unit (sen) ? 2k of for 6 months and a rate of 6.8%, I'd get roughly RM 68. does that go to epf, or i can get my hands on them? asb always available
http://www.asnb.com.my/english/asb.htm Approved Fund Size Unlimited. that means bumi can always buy (unless they change the rules) but up to a limit of 200,000 units per person (the stock is unlimited, but max is 200,000 per customer) whereas some other funds the limit is on the Approved Fund Size but no limit on the person (no limit per customer, can buy a lot, but depends on available stock) |

QUOTE(hangus @ May 18 2008, 11:40 PM) Well , you just go to the bank and tell them that your ASB book has gone missing and they will issue you a new one i think you have to to PNB and get a surat sumpah, saying that you have lost it.in other words, its illegal to say you have lost it when you haven't. |

MilesAndMore,
you sure? it says on item 2 of your statement 2007 JUMLAH PEGANGAN = (number greater than 200,000) and on item number 3 PENGAGIHAN PENDAPATAN EXACTLY (16,000) ? you had minimum, 200k+ through the whole 2007 and the dividend they paid you was exactly 16k? you should complain. I don't have RM 2xx,xxx in ASB, but that's what i've been told. its compounded for example if you have RM 350,000.00 in 1 january 2007, and never withdraw, till 31 dec 2007, you get 22,400.00 in dividend, and depending on how long you have been saving, you get your bonus. the 200k limit imposed is so that you cannot add more cash once it reaches 200k so if you have RM 350,000.00 in 1 january 2007, you cannot put in more cash maximum it can go is 22,400.00 in dividend. |

ok.
saw my dad's asb. dividend is more than 16k for year 2007. so confirmed. its 8% of TOTAL not 8% of 200k. Added on June 2, 2008, 5:31 pm QUOTE(vergas @ Jun 2 2008, 04:48 PM) Guys, see my previous post on dividend and bonus calculation: vergashttp://forum.lowyat.net/topic/347861/+779 Yes its compounded. But not monthly compounded, its yearly compounded as the dividend is only credited at beginning of next year. Yes if you have reach 200k limit, its is still compounded. Do distinguish Dividend and Bonus, Dividend calculated based on average lowest monthly bonus for 12 months, while bonus (for ASB) calculated based on average lowest monthly balances for 120 months (12 years) 120 months true 12 years, not true its 10 years This post has been edited by ttwangsa: Jun 2 2008, 05:31 PM |

QUOTE(sabrateur @ Jun 5 2008, 02:24 PM) I agree with ttwangsa. The dividend is calculated on the total, not just 200k. thank you for agreeing with meAnd here is another thing: If you already put 200k and then got 16k dividend after first year, your total now is 216k right? The limit is also increased to whatever balance you have now. For instance, if you take out 50k, you are left with 166k, but after a while you want to put back money in. How much can you put? 34k (cause limit is 200k), or 50k? The answer is 50k, bringing your balance back up to 216k. The limit increases with your dividend, and it does not reset to 200k. but.. i don't agree with you on the limit. let me confirm with my PNB friend. |
