Applied for exemption. Called PTPTN, lady said my CGPA 3.5 tak layak, but my cert clearly says first class. Must get 3.7 and above? The syarat in the form never mention > 3.7

Financing recipients whose completed their studies and obtain First Class Honours from 1st January 2010 with the following conditions:

i. Attended full-time course.

ii. Completed the studies in within the period as stated in the financing agreement.

iii. PTPTN financing does not overlap with other sponsorship.

iv. Financing recipient must submit the complete application within twelve (12) months from the date of the convocation.

v. The course attended has been accreditated by MQA.

3.5 CGPA already layak since first class.probably the lady pulling your chain.best if u walk in ask though.since some ptptn staff don't know what they're talking or just too rigid.

maybe becoz you didn't attend BTN course, that's why

As long as your course is MQA-certified and you have a first class honors, you qualify for the exemption. Go directly to PTPTN's main office at Wisma Chase Perdana. From personal experience, their other branches are pretty much useless for anything but collecting payment.

My uni first class 3.5 and above.
I showed PTPTN my cert as well as got my Uni to produce a formal letter stating their first class requirements.

I meet all the requirements, only that my CGPA is 3.5 upgraded to first class.

This sounds dubious. I suggest you follow Seager's advice and get a letter from your university to back up your case.

When the word "upgraded" comes in, usually PTPTN would not entertain the case. I got two friends with similar case, got upgraded but now paying PTPTN loans.

what does it mean by "upgraded"?

Usually 3.7 is first class, but my uni will review those who got 3.5 and upgrade from 2nd upper to first.

Asia Pacific University, old name is UCTI/APIIT.

Quite weird, usually you can't bump people up from second class upper to first class unless it's clearly stated lol

Written First Class Honours.

Present that and the letter by your uni to PTPTN

Walk in to PTPTN office.
Please bring the T&C saying that 1st calss will be exempted.
Bring supporting letter from University.
Bring all the certificate.
Please write a formal letter ( just in case they request)
PLEASE MEET THE MANAGER instead of normal staff
Because, Manager can do decision.
Im not saying normal staff is not helpful, but they have a limitation.

Edit: Fck lah, called my Uni ptptn branch, they said upgraded one cannot apply. Got letter also no use, because in my transcript it says 3.7 is first class.

Yeah.. upgraded one cause u r at the borderline one.. so u cant hit the 3.7 requirement.. Sad case for u la... get upgraded ady very lucky..!
