There have been so many discouraging remarks on the update 10.4.8, are there any positive ones? Improvements? Something that makes us wanna download and update it immediately?

From all these, many ppl dont want to update it. Just hope there are more feedbacks..

Dont use Microsoft Messenger , instead go with aMsn or GAIM. MSN Messenger for the mac is not a real messenger , it has soo many holes. From time to time it hangs [sigh]

I updated it and my mac boots 5% slower...*sigh*

Guys actually i have aMSN and Adium also, but I'm still using MSN. I have not tried the other two, will I still have the contact list in MSN if I use Adium or aMSN?

let's put it this way, i am willing to format my macbook and maybe revert it back to 10.4.7

i am really having a lot of problems with 10.4.8......especially on networking parts....

bootups are also a bit slower, applications open slower.....

so far i didnt see any good points on 10.4.8........but that's just me.....

when you got your macbook did you clean-install the entire OS with custom settings...?

I've upgraded without any hitch, then again my system was already slow prior to 4.8 due to the accumulated apps and files in a year, so I'd formatted it and re-install everything i had, and my system's snappier with 4.8 installed. And it seems like memory management's more efficient after the upgrade....

sounds to me like Intel's still sucks.... 30MB on PPC vs 200+ over on Intel... shocking.gif shocking.gif

With 10.4.8 they started moving away from DSMOS-style (TPM) protection to more uh, advanced methods. Which explains the huge size I guess.
