World of Tanks Welcomes More Guests from Girls und Panzer!
The Girls und Panzer universe returns to World of Tanks, bringing reinforcements! The legendary Team-Ankou from the Oarai Girls' High School is joined by two more crews from other schools where the art of Sensha-dō is respected: Jatkosota High School and Kuromorimine Girls' High School. And in addition to the Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. H Ankou, you can obtain two more vehicles inspired by Girls und Panzer: the BT-42 Jatkosota HS and the Tiger II Kuromorimine!

It's been a while since the last update, getting older, tired and been busy to keep up with everything these days, meant to post this earlier but alas... less than 14 hours till this event expires. As for price comparison, I think it is slightly cheaper with more decals being offered than the initial mid bundle debut of GuP Pz.IV Ankou in April 27, 2021. <Post #2727> Having said that, there are plenty of games out there available on Steam, GOG and Epic Game Store that can be bought for less than these pixel tanks. Only recommended for dedicated WoT players.

D-Day 80th Anniversary | Announcement Trailer

World of Tanks is commemorating the 80th Anniversary of D-Day with a new PvE mode, themed Battle Pass, a new Frontline episode, two historical live streams, a month-long D-Day Token Store, and more!
From June 3 - July 1 explore the shores of Normandy Events Map and earn D-Day Tokens. Interact with the map to learn more about the activities surrounding this 80th anniversary and use Tokens to choose from multiple rewards like Premium Vehicles, 3D styles, and more rewards in the D-Day Token Store.

D⁠-⁠Day: 80th Anniversary—Command Center
We are commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings! Don’t miss a brand-new PvE mode, a themed Battle Pass, a new Frontline episode, two historical live streams, a month-long D⁠-⁠Day Token Store, and more.

How was D-Day from the perspective of ordinary German citizens? Unlike today, their only source of information was from the radio, newspaper and newsreels controlled by Joseph Goebbels, Reichsminister of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda. Doubt that many knew the war situation that turned in favor of the Allied Forces until they reached the German Border.
The German Newsweek (Die Deutsche Wochenschau) was the unified newsreel of Germany from 1940-1945. The concept of a weekly newsreel was much older, dating back to WWI, and in the 1930s, there were several different weekly newsreels in Germany. With the outbreak of WWII, these were unified and from June 1940 shown under the title of "The German Newsweek". It was one of the most important aspects of German propaganda.

Each week, over 2000 copies were sent to theaters and movie houses throughout Germany and shown to the general public, as private TV ownership was extremely rare during WWII. Over 700 episodes were produced, and many of the historical WWII footage we nowadays have comes from the Wochenschau.

German Newsweek No. 718- 7 June 1944

This is issue No. 718 from June 7th, 1944.
Despite the Allied landings in Normandy happening the day before, The German Newsweek, like all newsreels back then, had a delay of at least a few days, so it is not featured in this episode.

Instead, this issue shows footage from German universities and student unions, footage of a German equestrian in Paris and a snake dance in Berlin, a Nazi rally in Czech, and antisemitic propaganda scenes, showing Jews in Moscow and New York, insulting them as thieves and fencers.
It also shows footage of the cathedral of Ruen in France, damaged by an American airraid, awarding of Knights Cross and building of bunkers on the Eastern Front, combat footage from Italy, and footage from German fighter planes engaging Allied bombers.

German Newsweek No. 719 - 14 June 1944

This is episode No. 719 from June 14th, 1944.
It was the Newsweek episode released after the Allied landings in Normandy (D-Day), and therefore shows only footage from the Allied landings, the airborne operations and fighting in Northern France.

Interview with Michael Wittmann - June 1944

Michael Wittmann was one of the most famous German tank commanders of the Second World War.
With 138 tank kills, he was the 5th most succesfull German tank ace.
He was also excessively featured in German Propaganda, shown in Newsreels and featured in radio broadcasts like this one, which was recorded shortly after the Battle of Villers-Bocage on 13 June 1944, where he destroyed 14 tanks, 15 personnel carriers and two anti-tank guns within 15 minutes, while being alone with his Tiger tank.

German Newsweek No. 720- 21 June 1944

This is issue No. 720 from June 21st, 1944.
It shows footage from the final of the 1944 German Football Championship between Dresden and Hamburg, a speech by (Vichy) French minister Henriot, a lengthy section recounting how Sergeant Apitz got his Knights Cross, footage from soldiers relaxing behind the frontlines in the east, and combat footage from Italy and the Normandy invasion front, including the awarding of the Knights Cross to two Navy officers for their combat in Normandy, and footage of how allegedly American planes deliberately bomb French cities, among other scenes.

Battle Pass XIV: D-Day

With Battle Pass Season XIV we are commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Running from June 5 to September 4, this Season takes you through the pivotal events of June 6, 1944, when Allied forces stormed the sandy beaches of Normandy. Dive into the heroic tale of D⁠-⁠Day and earn great rewards, including three brand-new Tier VI Premium tanks with Normandy⁠-⁠inspired 3D styles.

New Reward Tier VI Vehicle: Churchill Crocodile

World of Tanks' Season XIV: D-Day Battle Pass is off to a strong start with this new exciting reward tank, the Churchill Crocodile.

Come join Richard "The Challenger" Cutland as he dives into what makes this behemoth a fearsome contender.

Make sure to pick this new Tier VI premium titan with its Normandy-inspired 3D style when you play through the battle pass!

Normandy Tanks: Churchill Crocodile

The Churchill Crocodile, one of the three Tier VI Premium reward vehicles of Battle Pass Season XIV, is a formidable British heavy with excellent survivability.

An ample HP pool and an average of 150 mm of effective armor at the front mean this Croc can face same or lower-tier opponents in the open. Side-scraping is no problem thanks to 95 mm side armor. A relatively low top speed of 30 km/h is a trade-off for good protection, but the Crocodile sure can bite: its 75 mm gun reloads very fast and gives it a good DPM. Just mind the sub-par gun depression!

The historical Churchill Crocodiles that participated in the D-Day landings had a signature weapon in addition to the main gun and the machine gun: a powerful flamethrower that proved very effective against infantry and helped break through the coastal defense lines.

New Reward Tier VI Vehicle: M4A3(76)W Sherman

Let’s take a look at another reward vehicle of the Battle Pass trio — M4A3(76)W Sherman! This Tier VI Premium American medium is a mobile Sherman and has a 76 mm gun with good handling parameters making it a good player on the battlefield.

While you will find some of the strengths and weaknesses typical of a member of the Sherman family, this Sherman has some unique aspects. It is equipped with a dozer blade and is prepared to wage war away from supply lines, carrying everything necessary for field repairs. How do you rate it on a scale from zero to ten sandbags?

Normandy Tanks: M4A3(76)W Sherman

The M4A3(76)W Sherman is a Tier VI Premium American medium tank. It‘s one of the three reward vehicles of Battle Pass Season XIV, and also a typical Sherman with the standard set of these armored vehicles' "family" strengths and weaknesses.

The M4A3(76)W is mobile and thus able to change map directions and flank enemies with ease. (The latter is important as armor penetration values aren’t stellar and engaging enemies head-on is not the most productive approach.) Its 76 mm gun has good handling parameters, a maximum depression angle of –10°, and a base DPM of 2,000 points. Terrain-based play is advisable as you should hide the tank’s bulky hull and relatively weak sides from the enemies.

The in-game M4A3(76)W Sherman is a unit that survived the beaches of Normandy and has experienced some modifications since. It is equipped with a dozer blade and is prepared to wage war away from supply lines, carrying everything necessary for field repairs. Sandbags on the front of the hull are the crew's attempt at improving their vehicle's protection.

New Reward Tier VI Vehicle: Char de transition

This heavy Frenchie is the last of the Battle Pass reward tanks. Char de transition is a Tier VI Premium whose pride lies in the fact, that it was the first French tank produced after the country had been liberated in 1944.

Experience its 90 mm gun in hull-down gameplay and check that cool exterior inspired by armored vehicles of the 2nd Free French division that landed in France in July 1944.

Normandy Tanks: Char de transition

The Char de transition is a Tier VI Premium French heavy and is part of the trio of Battle Pass Season XIV reward tanks. The "transitional" designation reflects its status as the first French tank produced after the country had been liberated in 1944.

The strongest argument the Char de transition brings to the battlefield is its 90 mm gun. Both the standard AP and the special APCR rounds have very good armor penetration (212 and 259 mm respectively), with the latter able to pierce Tier VIII enemies from the front. At the same time, the protection of the Char de transition is not stellar, though the tank is able to hold its own against same-tier opponents. Don't bother trying to angle the hull or sidescrape. Instead, use the vehicle's adequate mobility to reach hull-down positions where it will feel at home with its maximum gun depression of 10°.

The exterior of the in-game Char de transition is inspired by armored vehicles of the 2nd Free French armored division that landed in France in July 1944. The detachment, under the command of General Leclerc, took part in liberating Paris on August 25, 1944, marking the end of the Battle of Normandy.

Grab the Normandy-themed "Freedom Is Not Free" mission active until September 1!

Completing the mission under 16 minutes in Rigorous mode is IMO the toughest PvE challenges ever even with hints and tips from Youtube videos.

Summer Challenge 2024: 150 Points for T-34 shielded!
The heat is on, and so is this Challenge! Log in and play the thrilling "Summer Challenge" event. Starting on July 11, complete a series of missions to showcase your combat skills and get a cool Tier V T-34 shielded . Other rewards include crew skins, customizations, and consumables.

Completing missions gives you Golden Coins which unlocks the final mission for the V T-34 shielded. Players who already have the vehicle will be compensated with 440,000 Credits. You will need a total of 150 Golden Coins. New missions will be unlocked each day, so check back and finish your missions to get as many rewards as possible!

There is still time to get one. Completing Mission #3 through Mission #7 will get 150 points. Mission #3 will be available till 5 pm today.

Vickers MBT Mk. 3 - Tank Review - World of Tanks

The Vickers MBT Mk. 3 is the next assembly shop tank in World of Tanks! Here's whether this British T10 reward medium is worth it!

Cost depends on resources in hand. Buying outright with Gold costs 55,000 Gold (MYR 996.83) Not really recommended for new players. With a combination of Free XP, Credits, Universal Fragments, National Fragments and Bonds, a player can get it for free.

Got mine. Didn't experience logging in issues. Unsure about other players but my former Recruit had no problems logging in while the Vickers MBT Mk. 3 with 3D style was still available. At its peak around 13,00XX players were online during the event.

Unlike previous Assembly Shop events, it took 68 minutes for the Vickers MBT Mk.3 with 3D style to be sold out.
Same thing can be said for the EU server.
WoT: Popularity of The Assembly Shop
2 Assembly Shop events per year is too much. Endless grinding for resources everyday will eventually burnout players.


Still plenty of regular Vickers MBT. Mk.3 available...3778 units as of this posting, 20 hours to go. For the first time, most likely there will be unsold Assembly Shop tanks...
