Update 1.23.1 Common Test: New Japanese Tanks and Changes to Onslaught and Frontline

Update 1.23.1 Common Test
The holiday season is here and we’re actively working on the latest World of Tanks update! It will unveil brand-new Japanese heavy tanks—a collection of six brawlers spanning from Tier V to Tier X. Notably, the high-tier tanks in this branch feature innovative double aiming mechanics (also known as gun cooling) and hydropneumatic suspension.
You can also experience a new iteration of Onslaught with the reintroduced in-game Store featuring exclusive items for bonds. Finally, you can explore the fourth Episode of Frontline and test drive 11 rebalanced low-tier vehicles in Random Battles, offering a renewed and enhanced gaming experience.

Received this with generic tank crew and it did not come with the historical tank crew that took part in the Battle of Cologne.

The WW2 Tank Battle Caught On Film! (WW2 Documentary)

In March 1945 US forces of the 3rd Armored Division advanced into the ruins of the German city of Cologne. Over two days of bitter fighting they eventually pushed the defenders back across the Rhine.
Standing in their way were the last few tanks of the German Army in the region. This is the story of how one M26 Pershing tank came up against a formidable Panther outside the iconic Cathedral, with the duel being caught on camera in one of the most iconic scenes of WW2.

It is also available in the ingame store for 6,000 Gold MYR 114.75.

This is the fourth free tank I received this year excluding the Obsidian (TITT Rozanov with permanent camouflage) from Mirny: Lost Hope missions.

A total of 156 Premium and Reward Tanks and 88 Tech Tree tanks were added into the game in the past 6 years. The number of new tanks introduced in 2023 was the second highest in the past 6 years. Only time will tell whether WG will introduce tanks exceeding 50 vehicles in 2024...

Three new tech tree tank branches were introduced for a total of 16 new vehicles.

A record breaking 33 Premium and Reward tanks were introduced in 2023.

The Charioteer Nomad is a T8 British premium tank destroyer in World of Tanks released as part of a special collaboration battle pass with Snatch! But is worth it? I let you know!

Didn't really expect the Auction would be so soon after the Battle Pass Special. Last year the auction was held on February 15th, 2023. <Post #3112> Anyway, I'm conserving my resources for the Assembly Shop.

T-22 medium bids did not exceed the available units. A minimum bid is sufficient to get one.

BZ-72-1 competitive bid is simply outrageous with 3,921 bids for 2,500 tanks. Equivalent to 45% of resource needed for last year's Assembly Shop tank. My bid of 400,250 Free XP wasn't enough.. Oh well, I'm pretty sure it will be offered in later events.

ISU-122-2 has a reasonable competitive bid with 6,912 bids for 5,000 tanks. Managed to snag one lower than competitive bid with a small margin.


TL-7 has garnered little interest from the players with 3,112 bids for 3,000 tanks. Getting a Tier IX tank destroyer worth 12,750 Gold (MYR 237.26) for slightly more than 175,000 Free XP is a good deal.


WZ-111 Qilin has a competitive bid of 310,500 Free XP with 3,119 bids which is slightly higher than the 2021 Under the Hammer event competitive bid of 305,000 Free XP with 2,938 bids. Previously, it was auctioned via closed auction in the final 2021 Black Market (1,000 units) with a starting bid of 15,000,000 Credits
Finally, getting 2 out of 3 tanks not in my garage without resorting to emptying my resources feels good.
