but it's not like they can instantly make their own fiber. i heard that sometime in 2015 tmnuts hsbb monopoly will end. does that means any isp can then use the hsbb network ?

not sure on the technical legal aspects surrounding other isps using the hsbb fiber network at that stage.

also will the government okay republics entry ? cheaper faster broadband, whats not to like ? (oh wait, must protect monopolies    but what if majority share holder is malaysian ? should be ok then right ? honestly can't care if the shareholder is crony. just want speeds like that at that price  )

well i think they signed some hsbb expansion part 2 or something, which is 10 years for completion. maybe the progress to expand is still ongoing ?

But biggest question is, will a company like myrepublic that is planning on offering 100mbps for between rm 60-70 be allowed to operate in malaysia sometime between 205-2018 ?
