It is all about the same. Just choose 1.

What is important is the wall base preparation before paint.

Prefer Jotun. Color choice is unlimited. You can also choose from their palette of colors which is way more to trend then others
No smell too.

In term of pricing, Dulux > Nippon, not too sure about Jotun. From what I heard(when I was deciding which paints for my own home), Nippon is widely marketed in Malaysia/SEA, but it is not the most sought after paint in Japan itself(not too sure why).

Dulux, the only advantage of Dulux compare to other brands is it is easier to scrap out. Like Dulux need 1 scrap while others need 2-3 scraps to remove.

It's good.
But now I using Majestic Matt - if I use a damp cloth to wipe, I can see patches from an angle. Front view ok

I am considering between jotun Easyclean or jotun majestic royal matt. Majestic has anti-fungus/bacterial properties and it's more expensive so I am thinking to use that but if it gives the problem like what you explained, I would go with Easyclean. You did not have the same problem with Easyclean?

why don't you try both. you need to test some color right on your walls? when i test mine, i bought 1L cans for the colors I wanted. Then you can use a damp cloth and wipe it (after a day or two of drying time) - see what happens

I can't remember if I face the same problem with Strax

where is your place btw? I bought my paint from a HST Solution at Ampang Point. The boss there is very good

But you must confirm the color too right? You can't pick from the color chart, it will look different on a wall. Try to paint a small patch preferably behind a door so it doesn't show once you paint with other colors

How does it compare to the Jotun Strax since you have used both? Does the Strax have this damp issue?

i think the Strax I used previously, you cant get it anymore. Mine is not the Easy Clean version. Mine was just Matt
I cant remember about my Strax whether I faced this problem or not cause the particular wall needs to be near a good light source and the angle must be just right for you to see the patches.

One good thing about Jotun, you can repaint a particular spot and the new paint will blend in with the old. And I hardly detect any paint smell even when during or after painting.

Not permanent wet spot
It's like discoloration only can be seen at an angle in strong light.

I can't tell the difference between strax and majestic.

My contractor get 3 workers to paint for my house, in 3 days they can finished the paint job upstairs. Cover areas are wall only.

1. Master bedroom - 1 big wall with color, the rest all white
2. Bedroom 2 - 1 big wall with color, the rest all white
3. Bedroom 3 - 1 big wall with color, the rest all white
4. Family hall - 1 big wall with color, the rest all white

House size of area are 20x70 with 11ft height ceiling.

Paint work with 1-coat sealer + 2-coats paint for white, then 3-coats for color. All using Nippon Paint.

Super fast paint work or reasonable speed?

I'm working at Bina Paint. in my experience as Technical Support Representative (TSR), its about how you apply the paint. here rule of thumb.
1. Choose the right paint for your need.
2. Wall need to dry enough to paint.
3. 1 sealer layer minimum, 2 layer finishing minimum.
4. Every layer minimum waiting time is 8 hours.(depend on weather)
5. Choose the good applicator is most important.
6. always make sure the paint is less then 3 years from the manufacture date.

very good tips.

want to ask, i have got a new house.. just completed the renovation work.
The renovation work involve hacking of wall to conceal wiring in brick wall where there is a lot of dusts on the surface of the wall (and everywhere else).

Does the wall need to be somehow clean before painting is applied?
Any sealer required for these wall with already quite good paint?
need to sand off the existing paint?
or just applied the new paint to the existing paint.

Let me know if there is anything else to take note.

It is very difficult to determine how a particular color will look on your walls, and with your lighting. If you have a color in mind, it is a good idea to buy a sample. And ask the expert for that.
