Will not recommend going 4k. The graphic card requirements is ridiculous for games. Even single GTX980 is not enough to max out 4k.

Movies are fine, online games depends on which game. New online games these days are demanding. I would recommend to stay with 1080p until graphic card for 1440p or 4k becomes cheaper.

if youre not too fussed on the graphics side, playing 4K reso with a GTX760 on low to medium settings can be tolerable (20-40FPS for certain games)

movie wise, no issue at all since movies mostly maxed at 1080p. and seriously, a GTX760 cant support movie playback? bollocks

scaling issue wise, there is a problem as Win8.1 have bad support for high res displays

4k support is not a problem.

I tried GTX 970 on 4k - performance drop to 25% - 33%. biggrin.gif

So yeah, whatever you feel good now - think about that. Are you willing to live with lower framerate or lower detail settings to get same framerate?

That could be even worse... Windows 8.1 has even better support on higher resolution displays... It all depends on the developer of the program whether they want to update their applications to work on higher resolution displays. icon_idea.gif

Mind you, 4K is pretty much a gimmick, unless you really want the screen estate. There's little or no 4K content available, and even it is available here, it would require a ridiculous amount of bandwidth to stream smoothly (FYI, 4K content would require an Internet connection with speeds about 25Mbps in order to stream smoothly). sweat.gif

Cheap 4K monitors are not viable for photo/video editing either since such monitors are using TN panels, where they usually have poor color accuracy and gamut compared to IPS/VA panels. icon_idea.gif

This article pretty much sums up what I told. icon_idea.gif

I wouldn't be bothered with 4K gaming because details are nice but they're not something you'll be observing in the heat of combat and whatever.

Perhaps you play DA:I or Skyrim and love to walk around exploring textures and details, yeah then go ahead. smile.gif
