hello, i have encountered a dell laptop, about 5 years old, when on the laptop, it will run for some time, then shutdown and restart, sometimes restart before enter windows, sometimes, just 1-2 second on restart itself. and it just keep on looping, restart many many times.

it can't be a software problem right? since the machine haven't enter windows sometimes, but it restarts.

i check the temperature, about 40+ idle, with some programs may reach 50+, no air con surrounding, no cooler. i guess it is still ok with the heat.

does this mean the mobo have some problem? or HDD?

sent to check, it was the chipset fried, repaired for about rm300, now still can use.
