I dont know bro. Everytime I walked into Rolex AD in Malaysia and asked any unit available, they said nothing to offer. It has been 4-5 times and fed up with Malaysia AD.
*
You pretty won't get anything without a portfolio, unfortunately.

I was talking to my AD that day, and some rich fella walked in to rant because he wanted a Wimbledon and ALL of the stores say don't have, have to put in waitlist, which he replied he already is in for years biggrin.gif

Any tips on creating portfolio?

Here? Find a nice dealer, be nice to them, ask them straight how to get the model you want.

It involves spending a lot of money on other brands tongue.gif

Thus, most here lazy to play that game anymore.

By the way, is it hard to get 224270 in Malaysia? I can get it retail here but our currency so much drop, it is about 20% more than Malaysia price. Dont know worth it or not.
*
I can intro you to my dealer, though I genuinely don't know about the stock etc.

what's the best payment method for AD like Swiss Watch Gallery, Cortina, Sincere etc? Any credit card offering 0% interest etc? lol
*
Maybank does offer 0% interest via their own website. Else, just use any credit card, then use Maybank's BT which is also at 0% for 12mths promo now.

I am looking at getting a Tudor from Carousell. Is the Tudor ID a good enough verification method to authenticate?
*
It's always iffy, best if you can arrange to have it verified in Tudor boutique etc, but I not sure if they do that?

Hello, I'm a noob and would like some suggestions.

If I just wanna get a basic Oyster Perpetual, where should I start looking in KL?

Is chrono24 ok?
*
c24 is online, so unless you are clear and confident about the seller, better to avoid. There are plenty of used sellers, Kronos, Wing Wah, SSong, a few also in Amcorp Mall and Times Square you can check out.

Fellow rolex watch owners, do you still send yr watches to Rolex for servicing?

Any recommendation for alternative service agents that are capable, reliable and thrustworthy? Obviously cheaper as well...
*
I send to RSC because mine got nothing I want to retain.

Masters are dying out, so unless you are extremely comfortable with the sifu not to fuck up your piece, don't be penny wise and pound foolish lo.

Spend 60-100k on a watch, then wanna save that few hundred for what.

Ok ok. Just asking ma to save some of my retirement dollars. Buggers makes it sound like I am the cheapskate of the world...๐Ÿ˜…

Anyone bought rollies in Japan lately? I watched a clip of a dude that went shopping for one in Shibuya and there seem to be ample subs and GMTs there. Surprising thing is the E2 is selling abt JPY100k more than a sub. At JPY1.7m for a sub, seems to be a good buy.
*
hahaha. You have to buy the sifu, thats why its harder these days to service outside. I believe Rolex also has stopped selling parts to independent watch makers, so many of them can't get parts to replace when servicing thus they just stopped.

I don't really thing watch prices in Japan is cheap, just they have a lot of choices. Maybe for US fella it can be given the currency appreciation kot.

I usually go and look at their vintage stuff but no buy buy all.

No. Wearing an airking is worse than wearing an Apple Watch whistling.gif

Get the watch you like la, if you like the airking, get it. If not, pass it on. Buyers regret is a real thing, so don't settle.

Do you think they sell you anything if you walk in into any of the Authorized Retailer shop? Or everything inside itโ€™s just for display? I donโ€™t have any experience in this field and it would also be my first watch so do you think luck works? ๐Ÿ˜…
*
Generally they are not supposed to keep stuff for sale. But reality is they do because they moment a piece is received, the whatsapp goes out to the clients they have.

Depending on which piece you are looking for, luck might struck you if no one wanted it and you happened to inquire.

No harm going in to test it and check out the pieces, some piece looks nicer than it actually is.

QUOTE(oldmanbythegarden @ Aug 15 2025, 12:24 PM)
I just inherited a Tudor Black Bay.

It is belongs to a deceased relative, and his wife gave it to me. There is no document or box; only a cloth bag (those come with gold shop).

Tudor Boutique in MV told me that it needs to be authenticated at the Rolex Service Centre. The Rolex Service Centre told me they don't do authentication for Tudor, and they also mentioned that any other centre outside is not authorised to do it either.

Any advice on how to authenticate the watch?

Thanks
*
They don't do authentication, the roundabout way is to send it in for service. If its fake, they won't service it. But you risk the watch being confiscated for being a fake.

Else, just take it to a luxury reseller watch shop to check, they will be able to tell if its real or fake but without any papers to back it up.
