I really want to wear my TT more often but there are not many places I can wear it. Also, it is a scratch magnet. You can see a deep scratch on the bezel at around 12 o’clock.

This is because Gold is much softer than Steel and will scratch more easily. I have a lot of micro scratches on the bracelet and clasp, all on the Gold parts.

My Sub, Speedy Pro and Datejust has less scratches even though I wear them a lot more than the Daytona.

It’s not so much about the bling but the characteristics of Gold.

Gold is warm to the touch. And has a certain organic glow to it that is not present in cold hard steel.

The glow is not very visible in photos or under the cold harsh led lights of the AD. You will need to see it in natural sunlight. It’s a nice afterglow. Kinda like cream colored honey.

Any Gold watch owner will tell you that colored Gold on watches adds character and depth to the watch. Not to mention weight and heft. Lol.

But yeah, main reason here is that my wife partially influenced my decision as she said that she like to see some gold on me to soften my masculinity lines, whatever that means. Lol.

But I think the real reason she asked me to get the two tone is because she wants to wear it too. Lol.
