better go b and ask for exchange, since the first photo u took is 600 over pcs after... that's not professional, because u paid premium prices for a brand new thing, not test unit..

Frm my knowledge there's no new stock for rx100mk1 nationwide so urs konpem is display unit.

There is, just that you need to ask around. IOI, Sunway Pyramid and BTS still have brand new unit.

No test after final assembly. Pack and ship unless do 'out of box' audit..

100% test after final assembly is bs for high volume consumer goods.

any updates bro? I bought M2 few weeks ago from the same shop. My first photo starts with 0001. But I stayed there while waiting for the to unbox the cam and I checked everything.

I'm not sure from which sales person you bought the cam. Mine was the pregnant Malay lady. If you do go to that shop, ask for Marcus and ask nicely about ur problem. Tell him the Alpha kakis recommend. He surely knows who. Good luck.

Sorry guys for being late update at here..

I went to the shop yesterday about 10am. The salesperson that served me previous day quickly came to me once I step into the shop. But I ignore him and insist to meet with his superior or boss of the shop. The manager came back with his breakfast. I met with their manager(chinese guy). The manager was shock when I'm complaining they selling a second hand/display unit camera to me without my acknowledgement. After I explained the scenario to him,he checked on the system on his PC.Then he found out that RX100 does not has any new stocks. Only the last display unit and that was sold to me previous day. He told to me that " Frankly speaking to you, your unit was a DISPLAY UNIT!!!!". I'm completely mad that the salesperson doesn't even inform me about it. I can very sure that I asked him the same question for at least three times,"Boss, kamu ada unit yang baru bha kan? " ,he replied three times " Ya, around dua sampai tiga units". The salesperson keep tell his manager that I don't want the unit and wanted to return it while I'm speaking with his manager at the same time. Obviously he is the culprit on this case. The manager promised to replace a new unit to me once the new stock arrive their shop.

They called me on 11am today to ask me collect the new unit in their shop. Let's see what happen next after I collect it tonight.

Lastly, I wanted to thank you all of you guys helping me regarding this issue. Thank you very much and appreciate your single reply and comment as well as analysis of the case. THANKS A LOT GUYS!!!!

Each new unit has a seal on the box. Make sure they only tear off the seal in front of you.

Who knows later they transfer another slightly newer display unit from other outlet.

Good to know they acknowledge the problem. I bought lots of stuffs there and happy with their service. Enjoy ur cam.

This time the box came with the tight seal, camera came with cover protector on the lens as well as the LCD screen Everything like battery,chargers are wrapped in plastic. The charger in the box is so much different with the one that day he gave to me..

Anyway guys,is it normal that when the RX100 focus,the LCD screen would be changing a little color? like become distort then came back normal?

If want peace of mind, should buy from Sony Store at KLCC or The Curve only. Other Sony centre are retail outlet could be by some other company like shangrila or by blablabla sdn bhd company.

That would be costly since he is from east Malaysia. And some of the Sony Centre owned by other companies can give you a peace of mind too.

i asked this one shop at one utama last night and he quote that price with only 8GB sd card.
no other free gifts.

if i'm not mistaken sony store has promo at RM2699 with a few free gifts.

My suggestion to you is wait. BTS is having sales on 25th of Jan.

now i have a very much under utilize sony A7, i don't think it's worth to keep it.
my plan is to sell A7 at least the body only and downgrade to sony RX100 m3 or sony A6k or even A5100
still deciding though.

I just got the POP from the management. The promotion item and price are rather interesting.

ouch. No wonder he wasn't there when I went there few days ago. I wonder what happen since I've been getting stuffs from him for quite some time.
