Hello guys,I just bought my camera RX100 Mark I today at sony center. How come the first photo I shoot showing DSC00675 instead of DSC000001? Is it something fishy between it?

maybe it is display unit? people tried using it to snap and see quality ... u may return and ask the shop how come the number is not 001... BTW, when u bring back the unit, is the box sealed with manufacturer sticker?

They just unbox it at the counter there while I'm away to withdraw money for the unit as sony center charge 2% charges for debit card - - It should not be DSC0006xx right? The boss ask his worker why unbox already,they say open to test defect or not.

the box doesn't have the warranty card inside also and the camera lens seemed to be a little bit dirty too - -

display/demo unit.

A professional Sony Center will only unbox the item in front of the customer.

Better bring it back to the shop and demand a new set... and this time tell the boss to unbox it in front of you.

so far I know that only Samsung Malaysia products (printer, phone, TV) don't have warranty card inside (they ask u go online n register warranty or through SMS) but I believe SONY still has hard copy warranty card

Usually they do unbox in front of me but this time the staff seemed to be unbox himself. He didn't even let me try on it. Just tell me everything okay. My careless too haizzz,so what can I do? I don't think the boss would willing to change it. The boss at the sony center not really friendly and quite bad attitude - -

I've purchased so many sony camera products ( A77, lens and etc ) and NONE of them comes with a warranty card....

They do tell me to register online. I'm okay with doesn't have a warranty card. But the DSC006xx showed that the unit seemed to be second hand - - so sad on the purchase

Now now, when you test that time and you don't check, it's really a small thing la.

You can try to ask nicely for a replacement, if you want.

Bro, may I know which Sony Centre you went to buy the product?

Sigh. Let's hope the boss can investigate this case through their CCTV over the counter... I had sent an E-mail to sony complain about this

Oh I thought in west Malaysia. Thanks for sharing the info. I hope those who are staying in East Malaysia would avoid that shop until this issue is resolve.

Test unit or not ..not sure la.

But what's for sure is it never be 000001. After assembly QC still need to test shot in production. So how to be 000001.

Even you buy new car also never 000001km.

Does it possible test until 6xx? my previous camera never encounter so high initial dsc

I would update this case from time to time.. Hope the boss could solve the problem.

I think is the worker fishy in there. Because at first he ask me to go for walk2 first.. He need to take stock upstair about 10 minutes. I insist staying there. He walk2 around on the shop then got a unit already at their store room.

Then when I go to ATM to withdraw money,he already unpack everything - -

unless your are from sony mfg, else stop misleading people. you dont test shoot every unit after final assembly.

new sd card with new card is always 000001.

I not sure what u mean by final assembly. I think it's normal to assume QC is done after finish assembly. No?


To TS... it's fine if the shutter count is not much let say below 50. But your s 6xx count is really suspicious.
