My first non ref from them

Insanely huge but lighter than matrix 780ti

Testing now. Got to wait for phantek evolv atx casing.

Seriously insane thick.

Asic 74/68.

Sli max is 1531
Single card asic 74 is 1557
Stock is 1405 due to asic boosting.
Stock voltage oc 1481

Temps at ambient 25c is 69/55 Load. First card breathing for second so no choice.

Will post again once build is complete with new casing ssd etc.

Yes. Very thick. But light. Because the cover etc all plastic. Its lighter than 780ti matrix.
Anyway full temp etc review once rig ready. It should look awesome in phantek evolv atx.

Third project now otw with fury x . Need to do some custom furniture. Doing a wallmount htpc.

Uik gpu rarely asus dude. Unless matrix but lately found those cards not worth it.

In fact i had a lot of zotacs before. More than others
Out of 7 brands for nvidia total hmm out of 31 cards in the last decade.. 12 were zotacs

Y cause rarely i get bad asic on zotac. Most of the time arnd 70.

Hmm these 980ti so close with tx
Single card with windows 8.1


Gonna see how high need to clock it to beat this.

Reference cards.. Zotacs are one of the best with evga.
Dont ask me y but higher chance of not getting a sucky asic.

This is the first for non ref pcb/cooler from zotac.
So no comment until rig is fully ready.

But for now having issue with temps. The top card not enough breathing room. Will see whether if new casing can solve it.

So thats y i tell ppl for ref cards go for amp.
Non ref g1 etc all coil whine. This card so far zero coil whine.

Galax now is premium.

Premium is defined by market presence n marketing cost

It does not reflect quality. Most nvidia aib are all premium except palit.

Palit is the worse nvidia aib partner. Bad qc, often changing chokes, pcb layout etc to their own design to cut cost. Only ever had one card from them. Followed closely is giga.

Oh make that 14 cards zotac. Forgot about my tb.

As for leadtek. Different market. I dare say most quadro cards in malaysia are leadtek.

Gpu Overclocking has three factors
1. Gpu asic
2. vram n mc pll syability
3. Vrm qc n power tracelines

non ref designs can only fix no 3 with some have partial solution to no 2. No 3 itself has a margin of failures.

Till date all i can see with non ref pcb .. You can benchmark in unstable clocks.. Actual gain still down to no1 n no 2 lottery.

The question now is premium brand. Its always associated with marketing budget.

Personally. Just get ref card. Not happy with temp. Get ref pcb with non ref cooling.

The amp extreme was my first non ref from zotac. Reason is because of that 65c 13-26mhz throttling point.

Bro thats msi ref malaysian stock. Cannot be said as all.
Hmm thats not bad 66-70 abt same. 60 n below is bad.
Ure still 1450 so still ok.

But looking at ocn a lot cannot hit 1400 n above.
While tx only one dude. Rest all above 1400.

So guess that confirms that initial 980ti is the rejected gpus that couldnt pass tx validation. As time goes on we should be seeing high asic.

As Ssjben pointed out. Its always been like that. Only the last round of kepler 780ti n titan black was full die fab.

Amd also
390 using gpu chip that couldnt pass 390x fab qc. 290 vs 290x. Upcoming fury vs fury x etc.
970 is a cutdown version of 980

Hence the value buy.
