I already bought FRAPS, that was before GFE and Raptr came out with video recording capability. Not inclined to spend again on another video capture stuff.

I'm not considering it because it seems to be able to record desktop as well, I don't recall being able to do that on FRAPS.

no idea, you have to ask TristanX or download the trial to test it out.
interesting. I'm still thinking between that vs RAPTR vs GFE vs FRAPS. |

QUOTE(rav3n82 @ Feb 21 2015, 10:10 PM) Ayam confused. How come 128-bit still on par with some 256-bit and 384-bit cards? you must view the bus width in relation to the memory speed. that also you need to consider the architecture. For example the R9 285 is 256bit but it is almost as fast as R9 280X that's 384bit with higher GB/s. it's also quite common to see newer cards with lower bus width perform similar or better than old cards with higher bus width. |

Before the GTX 960 came out I did predicted its performance based on memory bandwidth but it performed better than my prediction.
It's exactly like the R9 285 where lower bandwidth doesn't exactly take a hit. |

QUOTE(terradrive @ Mar 2 2015, 02:10 PM) Most review sites have cold room temperatures. I think not all malaysians have aircond in their room. Below is my test
1. burn in card makes the card run warmer than usual. 2. the above is using a higher clocked card with custom cooler 3. above temps are taken with room temps around 25c. From my experience the GTX 960 even on reference cooler shouldn't be reaching 80c on games unless 1. fan set to auto (not always the best setting) 2. casing airflow is not good 3. room is really really warm, as in above 30c. Reference cards often run at lower clocks too, much lower than the one as on the Palit JetStream. I'm currently running the card on folding@home with room temperature, fan duty at 42%. temperature holding at low 70s. |

QUOTE(DeepMemory @ Mar 2 2015, 11:11 AM) Well, thing is its not a reference cooler. Here is the link My previous Asus HD7850 max temps at 63 degrees though so I don't think my casing airflow is a problem. and what was your ASUS HD7850 was using? DirectCU II Top? |

QUOTE(ReverseDark @ Jun 10 2015, 03:24 PM) the dcu2 was a tri slot behemoth card, how was the weight well l'm didnt look into it not all DCU2 are tri-slot. then there goes my 780 lighting 2.5 slot behemoth card too, but best gpu l ever owned as to how far a card bends, that depends very much on the build of the heatsink, how the heatsink is mounted and whether the card comes with back plate. |

I got a feeling that a 970 Ti and 960 Ti might just appear soon.
There's a gap between the 960 and 970, and between the 970 and 980. |

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Jun 15 2015, 06:50 PM) Theres no gap big enough to fill in another gpu between 980 n 970. Amd basically has two gpu only. Y would nvidia bother when their current lineup is perfect. I feel that the gap's quite big. Price wise (compare within brands), each of them has around an RM 600 - 800 gap. Performance wise (based on Unigine Heaven 4.0 as reference) there's a 15 - 30 frame gap between each. I don't recall any 960 that I can OC to 970 speed, as for 970 the one that I can OC close to the performance of a 980 was the GALAX 970 HOF and that costs quite a fair bit more than the usual 970. |

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Jun 15 2015, 08:56 PM) 960ti 128bit/192bit 1500 sp is possible as SSJBEN said But not 970ti. As theres too little shaders/rop/smm pairing etc to mixaround with... 980 price performance now is better than ever. Its 970 thats gonna be dieing out. You're right on that. Looking back at what I posted (about 970 HOF OC) - I just realize that my post just echoes what you said, The gap between the 970 and 980 is pretty much filled with the already existing High clock / High OC type GTX 970 that a GTX 970 Ti wouldn't make sense. QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Jun 15 2015, 08:56 PM) 960 vs 970 is like Yes, huge gap it is.760ti overclocked vs a 780ti. Thats a huge gap. I tried GTX 960 SLI and it barely gives GTX 970 a challenge, which I think speaks a lot on the cards' performance. |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Jun 15 2015, 09:49 PM) Certainly hope so. Nvidia does need another card for the gap between the 960 and 970. In fact I think the 960 should drop down in price a little more. Yes, as much I like the GTX 960 in performance and power draw, the price is often not attractive. The expectations were high for the 960 to nearly match the 770 in performance, but unfortunately it wasn't. No doubt it's a cheaper card, but quite honestly the 960 is a dissapointment in many cases. Anything above RM 900 is urggghh, those RM 800+ are just barely acceptable. |

It's good to hold on for a bit, seeing that AMD's supposed to be announcing their line-up today. There could be price adjustments.

4K has jaggies............ if you look really close.
In the end the AA debate is rather pointless, actually you guys who say NEED also is about your preference. 4K screen so huge (generally) and from the distance I'm sitting, AA wouldn't be helping. And game time, no time to observe jaggies. They're not like CRT days when we play 1024x768 on 19". |

QUOTE(Angel of Deth @ Jun 27 2015, 04:35 AM) Today? I have no time to observe and picking on jaggies. They're not that eye-sore compared to a decade ago since the emergence of HD resolution. 1080p and some sort of post-processing AA are more than enough in most cases. Yup, usually set to 2xAA only, or none at all. When actual gaming, really no time to observe all this. |
