QUOTE(Velocity @ Feb 3 2015, 05:24 AM) After so many years my GC suddenly died i was using a 1GB ram MSI R6850 CYCLONE OC edition. Any recommendation to replace this card? This card been good to me and for its price of 400+++ it was one of the best card ever. Budget : 500 below or maximum of 700 Usage type : Photoshop, Illustrator, Counter strike Go, Battlefiled 4 and many more I am current using a i5 2400k 4gb ram I plan to upgrade today. From my research to lowyat, i seeing people recommending the following hope its price is low and as good as my previous card. Please provide me your best recommendation within or a better one ZOTAC GeForce GTX 960 AMP! Edition - 799 Leadtek GTX 960 2GB DDR5 - 700+++ The gtx 960 at that price point is the same as the gtx 760. The R9 280 at that price point to me is the sweet spot in that rm700 mark. If you can accept 2nd hand gc, there are a lot option like the R9 280X, GTX 770/760/680 and the hd 7870XT , all will out perform the 960.

QUOTE(pspslim007 @ Feb 9 2015, 09:28 PM) Hi guys, i just bought a new mobo (Gigabyte G.1 Sniper B5)and a Proc (4690), and i`ve tried to fix myself and finally the system boots up but auto shutdown within 3-4 seconds, so i bring it back to the shop to fix it and apparently he says the bios is out of date, so he went to website and dl the bios and pendrive it, so heres my question how do i ready myself if next time this happens again, is there such thing as old mobo, old Proc that makes this thing happen, please explain. Thanks =X (Sorry if i use the wrong term, beginner here @.@) Don't think it will happen again, the 4690 is a haswell refresh , so you need to update the bios of the B85 mobo first in order for it to work.

QUOTE(miong93 @ Feb 14 2015, 02:39 PM) Well the Driver Tab bug.. Cause I found that some user's GFE is having issue when they select the Driver Tab. And also, for mobile user, we can't underclock our GPU ad right ? Been trying to underclock my GPU's memory clock and core clock with MSI Afterburner. But it seem the profile just won't save it and even I press apply there is no changes. The bug has been fixed, about no overclocking for mobile gpu, its rather ridiculous that nvidia implemented that

QUOTE(letze @ Feb 18 2015, 05:41 PM) If not mistaken, cheapest gtx960 is leadtek stock cooler and zotac RM749. I believe most people dont mind to add RM50 to get better custom version. Meanwhile asus strix, gigabyte g1 gaming and msi twin frozr still price at RM999. I believe the zotac gtx 960 uses Samsung memory aswell, so it should be able to be overclock quite a bit

QUOTE(DeepMemory @ Feb 27 2015, 06:08 PM) Hey guys, just got a new Zotac GTX 960 non-AMP edition from Storekini. The temps maxed out at 81 degrees while my previous Asus AMD Radeon HD7850 maxed out at 63 degrees. Is it normal? What should I check? normal i think, the cooler looks similar with the gtx 970 and the max temp hits 79'c. http://www.pcgameware.co.uk/reviews/graphi...gtx-970-review/Try improve the airflow of your pc.

QUOTE(DeepMemory @ Feb 27 2015, 09:46 PM) Alright thanks for the info. Not sure if the temps can be reduced by replacing the thermal paste. Linus did a video on that few weeks back and the temp certainly drop by a few degrees. You can try using manual fan profile. I usually set to 50 percent

QUOTE(terradrive @ Mar 2 2015, 07:52 PM) My room temperature without aircond hovers around 30-34C It really sucks not to have any airconds. wow that temperature , does your room have windows? if got you should definitely put heavy curtains to block the sunlight. But yeah the recent heat haze doesn't help things either..

If you have a small case like itx then I suggest go with blower-reference design.

QUOTE(nodeffect @ Apr 9 2015, 07:49 PM) u mean shadow of mordor cant put high settings ? actually, plan to change one for GTA V and wanted to play it on highest settings... Im currently using AMD 6870.. For Shadow of Mordor @1080P you can definitely max out the graphics but just turn down the texture setting from ultra to high. For ultra texture setting the recommended vram is 6GB . The 970 is definitely a great card regardless of the memory issue. Plus the overclocking potential of this card pretty good too. I compare it with my overclock asus gtx 970 and the 780ti, the result is pretty close but the 780ti edges it due to high out of the box factory oc. For GTA 5, by looking at the requirements the recommended graphics are hd7870 and the gtx 660. The 970 should perform well

QUOTE(Minecrafter @ May 5 2015, 08:47 PM) Wait first, wait for Pascal. Inb4 skylinelover says the same thing. or buy first regret later haha , anyway if you can find the 970 for cheap like rm1k or something. Its not such a bad purchase since the newer games looks like its being optimised with the current maxwell gpus
