Wow for that price, i cant wait to see how much have they improved the hawaii chip, im still waiting for Fiji , im holding my horses to make the leap for a new GPU. That day was tempted to get 980Ti but luckily no stock everywhere
I'm guessing with the slight bump in speed, 390X will edge out the GTX 970 and certainly tie to GTX 980 on 4K resolution.
I'm sorta getting why AMD never went to great length for a new ~350$ mark GPU. The relative performance of the 290x isn't that bad to the Maxwell competitor (980 and 970). The Maxwell were much more energy efficient compared to the Hawaii.
With that said, i'll probably look for used R9 290 now
now u should go hunt for 2 ketul r9 290 . I was planning to do it but since FIJI around the corner i might consider it, Hopefully my FX8350 can keep up with newer GPU
wohooo , i need to pay by installment
You and me both, S4PH! Also since you asked "standard", that is 1080p freesync monitor. I don't want to spent that much for monitor. Currently thinking getting 4 1080p cheap monitor (below RM700) for eyefinity.
that sure is better than dumping 3k on 1 monitor, yes I meant standard was 1080p, ain't got the gpu processing power for 4k yet hahaha
i personally think it will be under 2k. no, they do care. if they dont, there will be no fuss about it at all either by the already titan x user and the none. it just some of them just choose not to talk about their bad choices and some do.
290x 8gb at cycom at 1.5k, tempted to but hold it for Radeon fury
I'm more interested in Acer XG270HU but willing to wait for IPS variant or/and UltraWide. Hexus review stated the monitor Freesync range was between 40hz-144hz but Tomshardware states the range is between 30hz-144hz
hahahah i see frustration over tessalation, lets wait for guru3d benchmark then we will see how far amd improved their new chip from the hawaii.
If AMD still loses out to maxwell, looks like AMD need to reconsider their business in the GPU market, Nvidia in other hand is focusing primarily on GPU development and AMD is juggling CPU and GPU.
I'm keeping my 290X after seeing the block diagram of Fury. Tessellation performance won't be that much faster than 290X, among other things. Disappointing. You can read Techreport explains it
