I wonder whether the R9 Nano's efficiency made it to laptops... Imagine a gaming laptop with HBM memory with compact form factor... brows.gif

I think you guys should chill down - It's good to have your own opinion, but do you guys seriously need to go that far? sweat.gif

Anyway, it's good to see that Freesync is taking off:

Aren't you already on 2 Titan X? Why get another pair of 980 Ti?

By the way, thailand's review of Fury X:
http://www.vmodtech.com/main/article/amd-r...096-bit-review/

Fury X is way behind in that review.

So the rumor that the Fury X is slower than the 980Ti does hold some credibility.... hmm.gif

If you keep using the 290, better overclock the fx8350 and wait for  skylake. But just changing to i5 will give you more performance definitely, probably even more in cpu limited games. maybe can get 5-20% higher fps in some games? not really sure.
For my 290's overclock, I only add +31 mV in afterburner

When will the NDA gets lifted?

Only reviewer worth reading

Conclusion.
Something off with oc3d crysis 3... Anyway dont like him. So dont bother

The card trades blows with 980ti n is king for
Fc4, acu, .. ( both has amd tesselation optimised drivers.. So lol.. We know that from 390x drivers.. They reduced the tessalation.. So not apple to apple)

Thief, Metro LL

Suprise it can do 4k. Now just have to see gamers actualy performance whether there is stutter.
*
So it lags behind the 980Ti and the Titan X is some games, but outperforms both cards in other games? hmm.gif

Interesting nonetheless, considering it is the first card to use HBM... hmm.gif

Also one thing - it looks like the Fury X isn't really a good overclocker... hmm.gif

Tomshardware does good power consumption measurements
interesting to see that Fury X uses 220+ watts only. better than 980 Ti.

Could be nice for a mini-ITX build though - imagine putting this beast in a Silverstone SG13? brows.gif

So the conclusion is:

Solid card, but isn't particularly impressive, though it's pretty nice to see some new tech on the table. hmm.gif

i would say 980Ti = R9 Fury X in terms of performance.

Both may have different values in other department, in terms of acoustic, power consumption, form factor etc.  I would go for Fury X if im looking at the performance alone.  But as im seeking different values, i would hold my purchase for new GPU.
*
For me, I'll get the Fury X, mainly for the form factor... hmm.gif

Beats both the Titan X and GTX980Ti in a few games, loses out to the Titan X and GTX980Ti in some games.

I wonder what will be the reaction of people who just bought the R9 Fury X lol. laugh.gif
*
...and loses out quite a margin though... hmm.gif

Still it would be very interesting to see how the card 'grows' over time - as more software and driver optimizations are applied on this card. hmm.gif

AMD GPUs tend to age very well - their cards can be quite competitive performance-wise even though the architecture themselves are pretty old. tongue.gif

290X at RM750.. shocking.gif

I have a feeling that AMD may came out with a driver that increases performance significantly - still remember Catalyst 12.11? icon_idea.gif

I didn't watched the presentation..not sure if there's a replay of it. sweat.gif

Looks like 20-25% faster than the 290X.
Catalyst 12.11? yawn.gif Not even into PC at that time. whistling.gif
Oh yeah,where's Acid? tongue.gif
*
Still, it's a pretty interesting card indeed, even though the performance isn't really up to expectations. icon_idea.gif

It will be very intriguing to see how HBM is going to be the basis for future AMD/nVidia GPUs. hmm.gif

Having new technology on the table is always a good thing. Wish we have new tech on the CPU front, which is sorely lacking right now. shakehead.gif

Yeah,a high-end card that is short.Kinda weird TBH. biggrin.gif

No more GDDRx.But i think NVidia GPUs will use HBM2..and use GDDR5 until HBM2 comes out.

Wait for AMD Zen... brows.gif Broadwell and Skylake..the only improvement i like is the iGP. doh.gif
*
Which is irrelevant for most gamers as they will likely to use discrete cards rather than the IGP. Worst still those chips are not intended to compete with APUs due to their pricing. shakehead.gif

I really wish Intel increased the core count of their chips - it's 2015 already and Intel still stubbornly sticks with a dual core on their i3s... shocking.gif
