wonder how's our season be like without sanchez
*
QUOTE(lazybump_nonsense @ Jan 5 2015, 03:12 AM)
Both Walcott and Campbell lack of  real match practice for me ...couldn't blame them much ... They don't really got enough minutes yet ...he's still a great talent for me
*
QUOTE(LordDenning @ Jan 5 2015, 05:41 AM)
but that comparison is two different things. I don't think its appropriate to use the car accident example. But I do get your point though.

Maybe something more appropriate to compare is say, going all out attacking when we are losing. We are losing already any way, so might as well go full attacking and not bothering if we are going to concede more goals because of that, since regardless if we do or don't do that, we would lose the game.
But of course what I said above there is a fine line. It depends on situations as well. If we are winning 1-0 but we are also pressuring the other team a lot (it is from this perspective that I meant to bring Campbell into the picture, there have been a few games we were in this position; mostly earlier this season, but instead a defensive player was brought on to protect that lead) VS we are winning 1-0 but the other team is pressuring us instead.

If you get what I mean? Not giving the best of examples to explain because I am quite sleepy so yeah, I hope you also get what I am trying to say.
*
QUOTE(sigheart @ Jan 5 2015, 05:48 AM)
There you have answered your own questions on how you cannot brain Campbell not being given more game time.

But just to clear things up I am in no way saying Campbell is a sh*t player. I quite like him TBH, looks decent, gets into good positions and has the knack of scoring some well taken goals, just that at the moment he represents a gamble which we cannot afford to fail and so far in his limited appearances, not one worth taking IMO.

Haha Poldi is another matter. A real conundrum that one which probably only Arsene himself knows the answer.
*
QUOTE(ahaksz28 @ Jan 5 2015, 05:52 AM)
Moyes wins against Barca! WOhoo created a new record some more. thumbup.gif

I just learned that Szczesny was fine by AW for poor behaviour after Southampton match. Huge fine I read. And he probably not gonna play again this season which I really doubt. Hahaha let's see!

We were quite lucky though to finish the game with 11. Kokolan twice (I think so) went with two foot tackle. The second one was very obvious. laugh.gif

and right after the 2nd incident, he told the Hull player to "shut the fk up"
.......

Well, the 2nd tackle he was lucky he managed to get both his feet on the ground before he made contact with the player. If not insta-red for him..
He must have watched too many Flamini videos sweat.gif

Yep. I was so scared when the ref blew the whistle. I was expecting a red card. Luckily it was only a yellow. tongue.gif

Alexis is a beast. Clearly can see his determination. Hes running and closing everyone down. Possible its due to the style in Barca where they quickly closing the opponent down. Other players should really learn from him. Most of our players are merely ball lookers/interceptors and have no skill in closing people down. Notice Alexis keep wave to others to close people up high the pitch but no one reacts. hahahaha. poor thing

Alexis is on a different level of class compared to the rest of our squad. Not just in terms of skills/ability, but his attitude/passion/hardwork/determination which is what separates him from the rest of our squad. Reminds me of Liverpool situation with Suarez last season. Without them, our clubs would be way way way wayyyy down the order.

So, where do we find 10 more Alexis'? drool.gif

read the news alexis don't want to be rested and want to play in this game..arsene should build a team around this amazing player and sign similar players like him..

Our game is built around Özil, everything flow through him.
And speaking of which, where the fck is him? And Ramsey? Arteta?
I thought they were all scheduled to return this week..

Ada setback aritu.
But:
Arsène Wenger has confirmed that Mesut Özil, Aaron Ramsey and Mathieu Flamini could all return for next week's meeting with Stoke.

I suddenly mau Arteta balik becos there is one who could accept balls from defenders and slowly distribute around. Rosicky, Cazorla all forward minded deee ~ No one can sit deep to distribute ball... to them.. most of our balls always from keeper to def to keeper to def den to opposing area. LOL

Agree. Him + Coquelin could make some good partnership since Arteta only thing he is lacking is pace.

However, if Ozil is back other than the left wing positon, he really has no place else to play considering how in-form is Cazorla at the moment. rclxub.gif

they're always willing to sell.

but for an inflated price. and we have lots of players returning from injury.

still doesnt address the problem we have at DM and CB. which honestly have been a problem since last season.

sissoko for 20mil is a good deal, i like the sound of that actually.

Arteta is a good DM,playing at DM he can last at least another 2 years,he's 32 years old but signing Sissoko for 20 million would be great,he gives me a feeling of Patrik Viera alike

Sissoko is a box to box mf like Vieira rite? Does he sits back? because I think we got alot of manpower always wanting to go forward and less defensive discipline players to protect our weak back 4.

Not sure if Newcastle willing to sell their star player alternatively, I think Wanyama is a not bad as well since he well built, tall and technically ok.

Another CB is also important. Its hard to find world class so I think trying to grab one from the EPL is good enough. Focus on EPL first biggrin.gif

I hope Cech will come. Dreaming dreaming tongue.gif

And probably no new DM kambing:

“I think he’s a satisfaction over the Christmas period. Francis has done well in all the three games he’s played over the Christmas period. He’s matured a lot and he’s very strong in the fight. I would say I have a very positive impression of his last three games.”

Yup, just read it.
But Ozil should make the squad for stoke.
He is the first to return, followed by Ramsey and then Arteta.
And after that, hopefully Schneiderlin.

Coq is not good enough =.= If really no DM or CB, we're doomed. With Coq we only have 10 players on pitch during possession and only back on 11 when opponent have the ball.

His close control and turn is weak defenders dont trust him to receive the ball in midfield. If tommy or santi didnt drop deep, our defenders will pass among each other LOL

That would take 1-2 years. I wan Diaby to leave now. tongue.gif tongue.gif

Anyway, its very noticeable that AW is very loyal to its players. He prefers to groom players and think for them instead of putting the club performance first. Its a double edge sword, you may get good players in the end but risking they will leave due to poor club performance which is what is happening for so many years now.

Still cant believe he still trust Diaby and praise him for his hard work and determination after all these years.

Maybe. Just maybe Diaby is really a gem but is very unfortunate with his injuries. We are here hitting keyboards and not with AW who really went training with the team.

But when hes not injured, he didn't display world class football too. Sumore age is catching up with him but still not much match experience. We are hitting keyboards because we dont manage to c him on pitch at that what matters. LoL

No use paying 50k a week keeping an old stone (unpolished) which cant we taken out for dinners. Just give it to Alexis Hehe..

He can help train with the squad, and the manager must have reasons to keep him and pay his wage, hopefully AW made a good decision

Because your brain can only comprehend simple things.

Have you considered that no one wants to buy an injured player? If no one wants to buy how to sell?

Before you even start saying we can terminate his contract, if we terminate = still pay back compensation for the duration left on his contract = the sum of his weekly wages. No difference.

Before you say he is wasting money on medical fees or whatever fees and that we can apply to CAS, to court or take whatever legal action to terminate his contract on the grounds of his injury, Arsenal are not run by asses like you. He got injured while playing for the club so the least the club could do is to nurse him back to health before deciding the next course of action (not renew his contract when it expires/releasing him from his contract/sell him if there is a buyer etc)

Next time think before you post k.

It's really no choice, had to wait for his contract to expire...he's a little too old to restart his career but as I had mention,he could be a Impact substitute or focus on being a coach rather than player for his future...

I fully understood noone wants to buy an injured player.
in fact, AW intends to provide a new contact to his godson. This is something I couldn't accept. Diaby isn't CR7 nor Messi type of players. Arsenal has spent millions on him and yet getting any harvest.

Haha... Obviously you don't know the meaning of asset & liability.

Diaby has always been a liability in the last 4 years. It wouldn't made so much difference releasing him in Aug 2014 & get Fabregas. Obviously just like you, Wenger fails to think big.

I won't be surprised if Diaby is offered a new contract end of this season.

After all Wenger is always full of surprise for the wrong reason

I agree with you. Please sign Diaby another few more years. He is crucial to the club. I still remember the match between Arsenal Manu. Diaby scored 3 goals and 5 assists for the winning.

He can be another Henry / Bale.

IMO, he deserve a 1st eleven starting ahead of Sanchez.

I probably set aside 20k for part time trading. Keep my full time job. Set aside 80-90k buy auctioned medium cost flat/apartment for rental income.

As ktard say...too high risk to gamble... 120k is nothing man nowadays...

Prediction:

Arsenal 1 - Stoke 1

- I don't believe Stoke can beat Arsenal at Emirates as their away record against Arsenal is bad
- Arsenal would still have phobia of Stoke's playing style

Hope Arsenal won't get choked.

Nothing personal. It's all abt the game

Walcott and Wilshere, they are important player for us,how can we sell them?Besides they showed so much loyalty,Wilshere in the club since academy time,Walcott almost 10 years at the club,I would not have sell them, they had their own class even though they are not the same class as Ozil or Sanchez. When Walcott or Wilshere in top form they are very effective

I think there is possibility Arsenal can sign one or two player, but those transfer rumours like Cavani or Real Madrid's Isco signing for Arsenal I think is impossible, although would love to have one of the two in Arsenal, haha

Arshavin is a good player,we sign him when he's on top form, but his form is decreasing every time we saw him play
Though I must say form is temperory but class is permanent,he's a okay signing

we had a good showing last season due to per/kosc partnership being so dominant at the back in the first half of the season. not sure what happened, maybe we need to sign a 3rd CB to force per/kosc to work harder.

and a DM of course

QUOTE(Thumpy Ick @ Jan 11 2015, 04:06 PM)
we had a good showing last season due to per/kosc partnership being so dominant at the back in the first half of the season. not sure what happened, maybe we need to sign a 3rd CB to force per/kosc to work harder.

and a DM of course
*
Last season whose responsible for being a dm to shield the back 4?

Pretty solid start last season...

Enough with such excuse. FYI, MU had much worst injury crisis than Arsenal this season but yet they had the winning mentality.

Arsenal still lack of winning mentality. I don't see this changing anytime soon

bony for 30mil, damnnnn swansea got a good deal.

tho i think he'll see more action than loic remy, city strikers are fragile i think bony would feature a lot for a 4th choice striker. plus he has really great hold up play.

Mostly its top 4 but past few seasons ago
spurs did give a big challenge to overtake arsenal
also everton didnt do that bad sometimes
liverpool too sometimes

Italian league serie a last time was really good
Milan inter juventus was really scary in champions league too but now fixing match/bankcrupt spoils it

belerang and kuleng had a pretty good game imo. santi and rosicky had excellent chemistry combining with alexis.

ozil slowed the game down when he went on, but that might also be because we're leading. still think santi is the best player to play CAM for now. did ozil play RW just now?

Agree..coquelin is really a good replacement for flamini/arteta
his defensive is quite good and most of his sliding tackle hit the ball first

Bellerin isnt that bad either. But why no chambers? Just asking bcause usually wenger use chambers as 2nd rb but bellerin is better than chambers in rb imo

Cazorla and tr7 play calmly esp cazorla..but seems like he didnt play more to cam..keep going back

Lastly chambelain this guy played well too..he the better option than walcott for now..cant really comment on ozil/walcott play for a while only but walcott seems invisible...

I would love Arsenal getting better in away game as most of important player back to field, hope this give Arsene more option to pick right player for the match.

between, wish we get the reliable DCM soon smile.gif

Wow finally a game we play like what we should be playing

Great game to watch

Did everything so well

And yeah Coquelin suddenly becomes quite composed

But needs to see if he could perform constantly

Next week against city away right?

Quick thoughts about our game with Stoke... haven't watched a match in ages.

1. What a bunch of c*nts Stoke City are. Same sh*t with the overzealous tackling and brute physicality, but this time we beat them soundly by playing football rather than cowering in our shell like we did in their ground.

2. Debuchy's injury is undeserving, and not unexpectedly Stoke got away with it. Useless piece of refereeing once again. When Giroud got a red card for "retaliating" against dangerous fouls, dangerous fouls e.g. smashing/shoving someone while they're jumping gets overlooked. Useless.

3. Alexis Sanchez. *swoons Thierry and Bobby. *double swoon

4. Hector was brilliant... Another gem unearthed.

5. We should keep le Coq. He's at least as good as Flamini albeit younger, although this shouldn't stop us from attempting to get reinforcements at centre midfield. Arteta/Flam/Rosicky all ain't getting any younger.

6. Nacho-man is a solid but non-eye catching left back. I still think Gibbo should start whenever available but the latter needs to keep fit in order to play.

7. Good to see Theo and Mesut back on the pitch, both are super duper rusty.

8. Giroud is once again frustrating, but good to see him being a PITA for Shawcross. Can't help wonder whether we're starting him because there's simply no forward like him, or because he truly brings something unique to the team. Like his defending though, one of the very few strikers who actually tracks back to defend a lot.

9. Our midfielders were brilliant. Santi's back to his best, Rosicky brings the zest that defies his age, Ox has power/speed/trickery. Speaking of Ox, he's improved heaps compared to before although still lacking in his final ball be it shooting or passing. That'll eventually come with experience and composure, like Rambo and Theo before him. I'm still unsure of what kind of player Ox is - central midfielder? attacking midfielder? a bigger and physically stronger Theo? Maybe this ambiguity makes him unpredictable and hard to play against.

10. Absolutely horrible commentators for our game (for the HD stream). Godawful. The bias against Arsenal couldn't be any more obvious.

Finally, three cheers for Southampton. Lost half of their team, yet doing even better this year with relatively non-famous players. Brilliant.

I almost forgot how long already since I saw brilliant performance like that from our team. Absolute brilliant. Hope this is not a 1 time wonder and we back to play shitty next game lol.

Maybe the return of ozil, ramsey and theo play some part in it.

Ospina did well but not amaze me yet. I dont blame him. He still lacking match fitness and he was not been really tested last night.

With ramsey also available and wilshere coming back from injury soon, and of course hoping no more injuries after this, wenger gonna have a headache picking players for midfield. I like that.

Kokolan seem solid but hope wenger does not think the issue is solved. A DM is a must.

Lastly, somehow I feel our second last game in PL at OT is the decider for 3rd and 4th place. Hoping its not coming into that as we all aware how our performances against top team lol

just to let you know that, RVP swap out is due to injury. While not sure on Di Maria, probably LVG realize that they losing control at center mid hence the introduction of Fellaini is too gain the center midfield possession

Pure class from pak rosicky last night.

With him and Coq, Stoke hardly control the midfield area.

yes. the midfield trio of Santi, Rosicky and Coq were brilliant last night. but how will they fare against City midfield now that's a good challenge for them. good news is Toure isn't around when we face City. against the lightweight Fernando+Fernandinho, we may have the chance.

Hope Welbeck is available for the next game @ Etihad. Even on the bench also ok. 2 strikers against them can really pull them apart considering how tahi is Mangala in handling strikers than out muscled him.

ManCity got Aguero though, this guy can score goals anytime. After that Milner, this guy never stops running for 90 min.

Going to be a great match i hope laugh.gif

How I wish AW can sign more "useless" and "overrated" players like Alexis.

With Ozil,Ramsey and Walcott back from injury and player like giroud, chamberlain and Sanchez fit,our attacking force can be frightening, just worry the defense against City attack.I believe City will probably get more possession with their strong midfielder like Silva and Nasri
