Ah Goat Sir, SCB Leng Lui said that SCB Islamic FD no need 2 days to clear the check,
the Islamic FD can be effective on the same day once we submit the check, but I only trust
her 50%...  sweat.gif

About the SCB 4.28% bonus saving, I think I have to give up.
The terms and conditions are very confusing.

When I called to SCB help-line twice, 2 agents told me the different things.

As you know, I have no RM to call.
When I called the SCB shorty branch manager, he is not picking-up my calls or
reply my calls.

When I tried to get information from a Leng Lui RM, she diverted me to talk about investment
products... rclxub.gif

RHB FD Promo, valid until 31 March 2015
(1) 6 Months at 3.90%
(2) 12 Months at 4.00%
Min RM 10K

Scb 4.28% is applicable only for PB (meaning AUM of 250k)

you need to put and maintain 20k in CA, and the rest in SA will get 4.28% for 6 months.

Just wanna a question to our FD kakis/experts here. When you have some savings to put into FD, do you:
1) Straight away go to the bank to put FD or
2) Accumulate more then only put into FD

Option (1) will result in many trips to the bank while option (2) makes you lose interest while waiting but results in less trips to the bank.  hmm.gif

for me i count la, if the "trip" is worth the effort to make the extra sum of money. if not much difference but too much trouble, then i skip.

anybody dealt with ringgit plus b4? are they 3rd party acting an "agent" between you and the bank (means they do everything for u) or do you still go through the motions of applying directly with the bank but use their "intro" code to get the luggage? smile.gif

I've just signed up for SCB 4.5% 15M FD. However, they told me that interest will only be credit upon maturity ie at the end of 15th month. Two branches said the same thing.
Also, apparently the requirement is to open a Justone savings account but I was having a basic savings account. Approval is needed for me to proceed with only a basic savings account.

How about you guys?

have you receive the FD cert? it states when the interest will be paid

Previously interest for FD placed above rm100k was taxable (not rm100k interest). It is now exempted as per the lhdn website.

That was why I stayed with BR for my recently matured FD biggrin.gif
Yes, PB customer. She did not promise crediting interest, only say managed to change that I will get after 12 months. I feel she is making up stories to avoid putting maybe abit more effort solving my issue.
Anyone knows what is BNM's contact to make such complains?  brows.gif

doesnt your FD cert talk about interrest payable every 6 months? how to make up stories when its clearly stated in writing? rclxub.gif

btw, for uptown SCB PB, you can claim back your parking for the first hour.

SCB Saadiq (Islamic) 15 Months - 4.5%

vs

HSBC 5% for 3 Months FD has extended to 30 June 2015

clear choice isn't it?

The deal breaker for hsbc is the cap at RM30k. if the limit is like the other banks, then its no brainer.

for the "calculative" people, the interest earned (or interest payment being earlier) actually adds to the "effective" rates.

Penang always get the good stuff tongue.gif  cry.gif

BR is ok but SCB is nothing but trouble. Went to Uptown branch to give them one last try & still disappointed.
Their priority banking is so bad, no customer & no RM at all but I saw a queue number left there where the number didn't change at all for 30 mins!

I lodged a complaint again saying I will go to BNM if they don't give me my 6 months interest.

I met a BR officer looking for someone's house & he told me that BNM new rule is if phone number of account holder is not contactable, they need to look for the person at his/her house to update / verify.

Shouldnt there be a RM specifically assigned to you esp since you are a PB customer?

maybe you can share the RM name here so that those affected needs to be extra careful. m2c....
