QUOTE(ultraman29 @ Mar 9 2015, 10:58 AM) anybody dealt with ringgit plus b4? are they 3rd party acting an "agent" between you and the bank (means they do everything for u) or do you still go through the motions of applying directly with the bank but use their "intro" code to get the luggage? I took their HSBC Credit Card offer (free tablet). They just email you a link, you apply directly with the bank, and the bank sends you a code to claim your reward from ringgitplus. |

QUOTE(cappuccino vs latte @ Apr 11 2015, 09:03 PM) I think that should be the way, otherwise the short and intermediate plan for this category of people would be ruined. Whose lives will be ruined though? If someone really got so little that they cannot survive without EPF payout at 55, how they gonna survive when the EPF money runs out?Problem of life expectancy too high. Of course, I think most here are thinking from perspective of those who already got more than enough, and the 'life ruined' is more like 'my investment strategy need rethinking'. Sorry, EPF don't have your interests in mind =) |

QUOTE(plumberly @ Apr 13 2015, 02:14 PM) Can see you starting to dream already =)EPF is really one of the better structures we have in Malaysia. You put in money it is confirmed yours, direct benefit from your hard work. If you have 6 million in there, how much would you have earned to get that (11% self + 12% company contribution)? Means you also had 18 million or so which didn't go to EPF (minus whatever was taxed). Really need that 6 million so badly? |

QUOTE(bbgoat @ Apr 13 2015, 03:28 PM) 6 million is a magic number. Someone once said (last year ?), with 6 million, 4% interest, 20k per month. Can live happily ever after. Assuming no great illness with accompanying medical fees (insurance normally don't cover past 70 or so).If some of that in EPF, bettter still, more interest ! Assuming house don't suddenly burn down. Assuming we don't get Zimbabwe level inflation. Assuming communists don't take over and 'redistribute' all existing wealth. And at least if money in bank, a bit safer, when its in EPF, have to worry whether government mis-using EPF money =p Always can find worst case scenario one... |

QUOTE(bbgoat @ Apr 13 2015, 07:44 PM) Assuming we are not hit by meteorite when we walk outside At least uncle goat got less years left (expected) so less chance for negative assuming we did not break any bones when falling down ... no ending in sight of negative possibilities. We have to live life with some possibilities. Hopefully more positive than negatives ! Hahaha ! |

Hi sifu-sifu all,
I have an awkward question to ask, I placed a Bank Rakyat FD (5 year 4.5%) sometime last year but can't find the slip now. Any way I could get it reprinted? Is there a penalty? Must go back to same branch? |
