My mom went to BR and was able to do banker's cheque for funds from savings account. She asked whether is it possible to have banker's cheque for FD upliftment and the answer is yes. Hope my branch continue this way biggrin.gif

That is good news ! I have complained to BR before that this is an issue for their customer since they started this no issuing of cheque in Jan 2014.

So looks like they are trying to retain their customers which is good news for everyone !  rclxms.gif

Thanks !

Previously I was about to post that no cheque is their tactic to retain customer coz when i told my mom about it, she said so troublesome, stay with BR! laugh.gif

Anyone here keeps a copy of the terms for the SCB FD promo stating that the interest will be credited to our nominated CASA on every 6th month?

add: found the terms but no mention of the 6 months thingy...only verbally informed by the officer then

Yup. The RM0.02 credited to my SA, i believe, is for the min RM20 SA deposit.

My JustOne account has zero balance from the 1st day.

What is your renewal instruction for the FD ? Not sure if it has anything to do with the issue of 6 monthly interest.

Mine is:
(2) Renew principal at prevailing rate for same term, credit interest to same currency account number

Ah Boom, is your 6 monthly interest due or will be later ?  hmm.gif
*
For this particular slip, it is:
(1) Renew principal and interest at prevailing rate for same term unless otherwise stated

hmm, maybe it is due to this coz interest is renewed together..aiya kena con but my mistake for not thinking about it. Luckily other slips are either (2) or (3).

Wah, yours also not credited ! I received a call from SCB yesterday and he said, by right, it is automatic and don't know why it is happening. He said will call again this morning after checking so I am still waiting for his call.

Boomchacha HumanNature gchowyh bbgoat ooops your SCB FDs weren't the recent 4.5% 15m deal, was it? That deal I referred to in prev post started only in Jan 2015 iirc. Since yours already 6m, means your deal was much earlier, right?
*
Hi, ours is the one ending on 19 sept, 2014. 4.25% for 15 months

Hi all..

Can someone help clarify the steps to move funds for FD. For e.g. if I have RM50k in Maybank and want to open an FD with OCBC, I understand that I can use Rentas or Giro. But how does the account opening at OCBC work? Do I just walk into OCBD and ask to open an FD account with minimum amount and then go to Maybank to transfer (as I have the OCBC FD account number already)? Also, would I need to open a Savings account first with OCBC and then only open the FD account there?

Any information is apprciated. Thanks.
*
Like what mentioned above, you can get Maybank to issue a banker's cheque under your name (with the amount that you want). Bring it to OCBC and tell the officer you want to do FD placement. He will guide you. Normally it is not necessary to open a CASA, unless the FD promo has a term stating so.

Hi,

I want to ask for the SCB FD, my mother told me this.
Is this true? I thought it is a pure FD for 15 months with 4.5% interest? The T&C clearly state for new customer. So if I am not a new customer, am I eligible for this promo?
*
The Just One account can be opened with no zero deposit (don't let the officer trick you by saying it is compulsory). I am not a new customer and I have made placement for this promo too.

Interesting because during the last visit, i notice that the staffs at the SCB branch is fewer compared to last time. And the best thing is, when I wanted to move funds from CIMB for the new 4.5% SCB promo, I saw the SCB lenglui who did my first FD placement (the 4.25% 15 months) working at that CIMB branch. I think she still recognizes me, the very fussy customer biggrin.gif

Hi, I've just opened SCB FD @ 4.5% 15 months this morning..
and I was told that in order to open the fd, i would need to deposit rm1.5k, and I did..

now only saw that no need to deposit inside like that, what to do a?
*
QUOTE(alexace11 @ Mar 20 2015, 04:38 PM)
yes, I have debit card smile.gif

but the person said must have savings/current acc with them only can have the FD acc wor?? so if i withdraw then my FD acc cannot continue liao?
*
If you want to play hard, file a complaint to Bank Negara. It would be easy for you this time as I already made a similar complaint last time. I did not deposited the RM1500 but you did so your case is worse. Fyi, I was compensated by the bank.

To answer your question, the Justone acc can be opened with zero deposit.

Update on the SCB interest issue.

My interest will be manually credited by the branch and will be changed to option 2 or 3.

I have also reminded them to check on other deposits with option 2 or 3. So for those with option 2 or 3, please share if your interest has been credited as as I have few certs with such option coming up end of this month too.
