The answer is NO.

Down there, you are not allowed to own anything except food, basic clothes and a small amount of money.

Burning paper airplanes, cars, mobile phones, houses, servants and so on is totally meaningless and a waste of time.

Blast from the past - my teacher channeling Lord Zhang.

Picture dates from the early 1990s.

Not sure if bro Nacht have written about him before. Can you share his background. When I was young, my grandfather used to pray to a deity with black face, not sure is it Lord Zhang or not

It could well be him , huat zhu kong or北極玄天上帝

But I would go for huat zhu kong , 北極玄天上帝 is rare here
If you're hokkien by any chance , huat zhu kong is mostly revered by the hokkien community
*
Yup, hokkien here. Thanks for the info

QUOTE(nachtsider @ Aug 27 2016, 07:48 PM)
Lord Zhang is a mystic knight errant - a chivalrous wandering warrior-sorcerer who went about righting wrongs and helping those in need.

He is also known as Fa Zhu Gong/Huat Zhu Gong/法主公 or Master of the Way in recognition of his mystical prowess.

Among his claims to fame include the subjugation of a demonic serpent, which he tamed and turned into his familiar animal.

You can see the serpent coiled around his body if you look closely at statues of him (he is also easily identified by his dark skin, full beard, the magic sword in his right hand and the fire wheels under his feet).

The serpent can transform into a spiritual whip, which he uses to scourge and dispel/destroy evil spirits.

This is the genesis of the 'huat soh' cobra-headed ritual whip that sintua mediums and practitioners crack to purify ritual spaces prior to performing their rites.

Here are pictures of Lord Zhang in statue form, Lord Zhang being channeled by a medium and examples of the huat soh whip.

That guy is nothing but trouble.

He consorts with dark and malevolent powers.

Do not engage his services if you know what's good for you.
*
nah, won't engage his services. just curious about his methods. thanks

QUOTE(nachtsider @ Dec 27 2016, 11:08 AM)
Today, it came to my knowledge that Puay, my teacher's successor and our current medium, has completed his contract with his divine patrons (Na Zha, primarily) and will no longer channel.

My teacher's sintua will once again fall into dormancy, it would seem.

While this is sad in a way, I am happy for Puay, as he will be able to enjoy more time with his wife and three small children; his wife was always concerned about the hazards he faced as a medium.

Thank you for your service and for the splendid memories, my friend.

Godspeed and best wishes.

How would they know the contract ended? So now the temple can't perform channeling anymore to help the people?

Jess and Simon came back the following week to report that someone in their neighbourhood had suddenly died the morning after their consult with Tua Ya Pek; the man had apparently suffered a catastrophic stroke.

Did the man died because of the spell is broken? I remember u said karma will hit those back when the spell is broken

Tua Ya Pek can sometimes provide wealth to the deserving.

But this is hardly his primary function.

His primary function is as a bringer of death.

Ok thanks. Wonder if they mis-label or what

Can someone advise where can I find the "tua ya pek" in klang valley? As my mum seems unable to recover from the constant fears and panic that been affecting her for weeks despite seeking specialist and consuming types of medicines. I heard tua ya pek can ward off spirits if this is the reason for my mum illness.

Please enlightened, thanks.
