finally got the X-T1 from Fujifilm Malaysia @ Glenmarie Service Centre !!!
they replace a NEW unit for me !!!

my story with Fujifilm Malaysia Camera Service Centre begin here...

23 Mar 2015 (Mon), 12:46pm.
I send my X-T1 to repair @ FujiFilm Malaysia Headquarters (Hicom-Glenmarie Industrial Park).
The problem of my camera was the Aperture = F/0 issue, which the camera totally can't detect any lenses.
Customer Service Officer told me that the service period will need 2 weeks time, as the parts have to ship from Japan.

6 Apr 2015 (Mon), 11:00am.
I make a call again, which after 2 weeks I send in my camera for repair.
I was told by Customer Service Officer that he still waiting for the parts from Japan.
So, asked me to call again on Friday to check again the status.

10 Apr 2015 (Fri),
11:00am. ~ I call again today as requested on Monday to check again the status. Unfortunately, I got the same answer again after almost 3 weeks of waiting & the parts still not yet receive by Customer Service Officer to repair my camera.
11.55am. ~ send an email to General Manager (Fujifilm Malaysia Camera Division), to complain !!!
1:25pm. ~ General Manager (Fujifilm Malaysia Camera Division) replied my email, he promise will investigate immediately & give me an answer before 6pm.
4.38pm. ~ Service Manager (Camera Repair Division) replied my email, X-T1 parts shipment being delayed from overseas supplier due to unforeseen reason. Therefore, they would like to replace 1 unit brand NEW camera body X-T1 to me. They apologized for the inconveniences caused to me. Inform me to collect the NEW unit of X-T1 on 14 Apr 2015 (Tue) onward.

13 Apr 2015 (Mon), 4.57pm.
Senior National Technical Manager send me an email & confirm that I can collect my NEW X-T1 tomorrow (14 Apr 2015) onward.

14 Apr 2015 (Tue), 10:30am.
Collect my NEW X-T1 from Fujifilm Malaysia Glenmarie Service Centre !!!

Yes... So sad. sad.gif
Yeah, maybe I should. I give them until next Monday as I was told to call back again on next Monday to follow up. Though it should be them giving me an update, fine I give in and will call them on next Monday. At this moment, I'm only frustrated with the service I got from Menara Axis. So, if Glenmarie SC screws up mine later, it will be double complaints from me. laugh.gif
Though the pain is long but think on a brighter side, you got a new unit replaced. drool.gif
I wouldn't mind if I get mine replaced. Maybe if the service gets worse later, I will write to their GM too. laugh.gif

laugh.gif yeah... at least got a new unit...

Called Fujifilm Glenmarie, I will get my camera fixed on Thursday and will be deported back to Menara Axis on Friday. He assured me that I will get it on Friday.

Good thing is I will have a camera to use in my next trip which commences on 1st May...

I asked what were the things have been fixed, they changed my on/off button and fixed my leak light issue. Then, I asked about my d-pad and I think that was left out. So, they are going to try and fix it accordingly. biggrin.gif

So far, it is still OK. I will need to call back on Thursday again.

good news... hopefully they manage to fix ur D-pad on time... smile.gif

How much is 56mm, 16mm and 10-24mm? My heart leans towards wide angle lenses but f/1.2 is delicious.
*
to me if already hv 23mm i will ignore the 16mm...
so u should go for 56mm or 10-24mm... or BOTH !!! rclxms.gif

Wide + short MFD. biggrin.gif

then 10-24mm...
just lk what i'm using...
18mm + 10-24mm... thumbup.gif

my friend help me to get some items from Camera City @ ShenZhen, China.

1. Fujifilm EC-XT L Long EyeCup to replace the factory unit, finally can hv a better cover when using EVF.
(RMB 80 / unit = RM 48) if JJC brand RMB 50 = RM 30, so not much different then i surely pick the ori Fujifilm unit.

2. GGS Larmor Glass LCD Screen Protector, bcoz i just broken the current unit during my Korea trip 2 months ago.
(RMB 68 / unit = RM 41)

I'm using the 10-24 f4. What are your concerns? That it will not be bright enough? So far I've been using it, no situation when I find it too slow. Even in situations when the shutter becomes too slow, it's got OIS mah! rclxms.gif  tongue.gif
*
agree... so far no problem for me as the OIS still able to handle during low light...
else u can try XF 14mm f2.8... whistling.gif

i'm using 18mm f2 most of the time.
compact, lightweight, value for money.
90% mounted on my X-T1 & the other 10% i'm using 10-24mm f4.
