hmm now my eyes aim on 10-24mm or 16mm for travel...
still can't make up my mind...

I'm already have 50-140 so 90 can wait smile.gif

Having owned the 10-24 before and tested the 16mm, I'd say go for the 10-24 for the versatility if you wanna use it for travel.

Ehem. Can pre-order xt10 from mr. oss right now. price is amazing.

i got a question for you guys. is it worth it to sell my samyang 12mm to buy xf 18-55mm f2.8-4 R? No autofocus from samyang makes me disappointed a bit.
*
That depends if you shoot lots of landscape or interior.
The 12mm view can be a bit limiting and not as versatile as the 18-55.
If you can only have 1 lens, I think the 18-55 is the lens to get.

I asked a store near me and they're selling the X-T10 with XF 18-55 for RM3999, if just body RM2999. Thinking of getting with the kit lens. What do you guys think of the price?
*
If body only at rm3k, I would rather get the X-T1 at rm3.2k, a rm200 difference only

guys... given a choice.. 23mm or 35mm for you?
*
Price notwithstanding, 23mm for me.
The FOV of equivalent to 35mm FF, it's more all rounder lens, unless you grow up with film SLR and used to nifty fifty FOV.

the problem is... i just bought x100t not long ago so that already 23mm lens... wonder does this helps to conclude that i should get 35mm when i buy xt1 lol...
*
Well, since you've already have the x100t, made it easier to choose the 35mm, or the 16mm tongue.gif

well is depend on u ,

XT1
1)weather resistant
2) dedicated ISO
3) pricey
4) silver way too expensive

XT10
1) Cheaper
2) PASM Dial
3) lighter and smaller
4) no UHS II card support

as far as I know,(body only) XT1 is around RM4000,Silver graphitte is around RM 4700 and Xt10 around RM3000...so you decide
Price is estimate market price....

for exact price, please find seller like Mr OSS (lowyat forum), other seller like ST CHua(Berjaya Times Square 8 floor), scdvom(lowyat forum), kldslr.com ,lazada, lelong or some other places that you know....local set is Msia warranty, import is grey set(any issue, u need to pay for services)..u compare your own and decide...
*
Street price is definitely much lower.
Someone just bought the X-T1 graphite from Mr Oss for rm3790 and I believed the black X-T1 is about rm3.2k.

To the TS,
I've played with the X-T10 last month and I would recommend you to get the X-T1 if the difference is only rm200.

im seriously considering a new replacement for my crap vanguard tripod

thinking of either Sirui T-025x or Sirui T1205x or Manfrotto BeFree..

Needs: Lightweight, small, fairly stable for XT1

Any opinion..
*
I have been using the Sirui T-025X (1st version with fixed center column) for the past 3-4 years and have been very happy with it. My friend even borrowed the tripod for his 1 month backpacking Europe trip and he never complaint to me about the tripod.
It's light, about 0.7kg, 30cm collapsed length that can goes into Billingham Hadley Pro bag, stable enough for X-T1 with 56 1.2 + nissin i40 mounted, has a center hook to keep it stable.
The only cons that I can think of if the maximum height is only 1.3m, with center column extended.
If you are a tall person, e.g >1.7m, you need to bend down to shoot.
If you need a taller tripod, Sirui just launched the T-024X, which has a maximum height of 1.4m, but folded length of 40cm as it is a 4-sections tipod, unlike the 5-sections T-025X.

The T1205 has more solid feel with all legs extended but it still has the same maximum height like the T-025X, but it is heavier and not as compact when folded.

I've tried BeFree carbon a couple of time and to me, the ergonomic is a bit bummer to get used to.
I'm not a fan of the legs clip mechanism and also on how to adjust the spread of the legs (only 2 angles, instead of 3 angles for the Sirui).
The tripod head also feels not as solid as the Sirui counterpart.
The BeFree carbon is also heavier than both the 025X and 1205.

i have decided based on your comment..

my Sirui T-1205x + G10 ball head is on their way..  rclxm9.gif

got a good deal.. in lazada again.. after voucher, total is rm820

for a carbon fibre tripod i am more than happy..  biggrin.gif

I'm sure yo've made the right decision.
I don't think you will go wrong with the T1205 + G10 ballhead.
It's a good tripod, well worth's the money.

It's really indeed "poor man Gitzo's", Gitzo-like build quality minus the price tag biggrin.gif

The top is for the vertical battery grip contact, i.e. the rubber cover under your camera body.
The round one is the cover for the hot sync, i.e. on front top left corner of the camera

Anyone wanna welcome me to this club? tongue.gif Just COD with Mr Oss this morning XT1 and 35mm.

By the way what strap are you guys using for this camera? Recommendation Pls. Thanks!
*
I'm using Peak Design Leash right now.
Previously used Artisan Artist 103N.

Not a fan of the stock strap as difficult to adjust the length on the go.

just checked out their website.. will it scratch your camera body at the connecting point there? notice there's nothing to protect it from touching the camera body
*

As Sniper mentioned, the loops are plastic and it won't scratch the body.
It's much cheaper than the Artisan and more flexible as you can detach the strap if you wanna go naked biggrin.gif

Help! How did you apply the leash on your XT1? I can insert the thread into the "hole" as it's too thick.
*
You need to install the triangle ring that comes with the camera first as the hole is too small
