die loh like that....so many funds so many historical transactions

Wanna be lazy try tipu u also susah sweat.gif

Nah, here's how I treat disposed funds (see attached screenshot)

1. All the historical transactions are still there <- this is an ABSOLUTE MUST!
2. Last "summary" row for the fund, "total units" cell is zero because I've fully switched out
3. No more date, no more amount.
4. XIRR for that fund, covers rows 438 to 446
5. Profit/(loss) for that fund, also covers rows 438 to 446

I kept this fund's transactions totally hidden away from sight, but they're all there, covered by portfolio XIRR calculation and profit/(loss) calculation.

U cannot just keep 1 row with the profit/(loss) from that fund, portfolio XIRR calculation needs each and every transaction details (value + date).

i agree with you that there's no error in buy/sell transactions. as pointed out by you, it could be the errors in platform sell...

but i'm not going to be anal about this....just did the manual adj.

btw, for the Fund Allocation worksheet, is the Total formula (in row 38) for column E to column T correct? these formulas seem to sum up only from row 8 - 13 only.

jutamind I've entered the transactions as per FSM's data into my spreadsheet, and both the Purchase Amount-to-Units calculation and Unit-to-Sales Amount calculation seems to be tally with FSM's data.

Here's what I have done:
#1 ATTEMPT: Simple Troubleshooting (only use "BUY" and "SELL") - TALLY!!
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Let's take it further, and match-exactly the type-of-transaction as-per FSM data:

#2 ATTEMPT: Advanced Troubleshooting (Match transaction type as per FSM data) - ISSUE WITH TRANSACTION TYPE?
1) Enter ALL purchase into my spreadsheet with t-type as per FSM (buy / switch buy), ensure 0% sales charge, ensure amount invested is negative value (this is easily done by converting the [RM XXXX.XX] into [XXXX.XX * -1]
2) CHECK all the calculated units - ENSURE tally with FSM data (up to two decimal points as per FSM standards) - tallied!
3) Enter ALL sales into my spreadsheet with t-type as per FSM (sell / switch sell / platform fee sell), ensure 0% redemption fee, ensure unit sold is negative value (this is also easily done by converting the [XXXX.XX unit] into [XXXX.XX * -1]
4) CHECK all the calculated Sales Amount - ENSURE tally with FSM sold price (up to two decimal points as per FSM standards) - noticed error, see below
[attachmentid=4316477]

Other than this, I believe there are no rounding issues as all buy/sell have their conversations done correctly as per FSM data (both Purchase to Units; and  Units to Sales Amount)

i used to have funds from other platform/fund house....didnt keep the records for previous fund holdings

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Jan 25 2015, 02:35 PM)
Or, u could chose to omit transactions from a galaxy far far away...u got Public Mutual transactions too? Or your UTs are all with FSM?

If FSM only, u could just copy and pasta everything from FSM historical transactions listing.

when i open the xls file, i get this error:

Removed Records: Formula from /xl/calcChain.xml part (Calculation properties)

any impact on the formulas in the xls file as well as the data entered? a Save As is required to recover the file. no idea what i did to generate the error. the only change i did was to copy the rows/lines....didnt remember altering any formula

polarbearz, i was looking thru your v1.4. dont think i want to go thru the hassle again since i'm using v1.3.

having looked at the change log, i want to find out:

1. enabled manual units adjustment at total fund units level - what does this mean?
2. enabled manual price adjustment (for sales) - what does this mean?
3. fixed bug on units formula calc if nav is zero - just copy the new formula fro Units detailed column?

polarberz, just tried the conversion tool v1.1 and realized that i cant use the Convert FSM Sales Data button if there's only 1 sales record. the same error happens for Perform Merging button. are these bugs or build on purpose?

Tell lar where to get this ball....

QUOTE(xuzen @ Feb 27 2015, 04:01 PM)
I am happy you asked and I am happy to answer:

CIMB Asia-Pac Dynamic Income Fund aka Ponzi ver 2.0 amongst long time forummers here has the best risk-adjusted return. Hence keep it.

KGF and Small-Cap are essentially invested into the same market and they both have a correlation coefficient of 0.8 which is the numerical/mathematical way of saying you are invested in the same market. 1 is the max value.

KGF's Corr-coeff vs Ponzi is 0.60 whereas Small cap Corr-coeff with Ponzi 2.0 is 0.54.

To be a logical investor, you need to choose the component of your portfolio to have low Corr-coeff with each other, hence choose small-cap with Ponzi 2.0.

Now you ask me, how I get to have access to all these data?

I told you, I have a crystal ball.

Xuzen
