Car battery is only 12V, altenator also will be supplying 12V+-, how to get 13.8V also I don't know. Anyway a sub if power is 300W, it can take power range from 50W-300W, normally the manual will state it. Only when using low power amp, it might overheat it and the bass punch is less compare to power it on higher power amp.
If a car's pwer supply is >13V, eletric parts like bulb sure will blow already. This post has been edited by jojo902156: Sep 25 2006, 05:41 PM |

Agako amps is not bad for price of rm1k-2k, what for get some second hand amps that seller claims to be in tip top condition while actual is not and it still cost >rm1k? Unless is selling cheap, maybe rm300-500, then can consider about it. By logic thinking, will a person buy a high powered amp and never blast it?

For me, second hand if use <1week half price I can consider, >1week 25% from the actual price. Remember, eletronic parts main enemy is heat, as a car won't keep under 100% covered roof all the time. I bought a second hand amp which claimed to be at good condition, later when open up the cover, I found some burnt resisters.

I don't know how you define the word abuse. The amp is 300w rms and the sub is <250w rms. By making the amp working at 75%, is this called abusing the amp? Anyway this is the good part of buying second hand amps, where short warranty will be given by the seller. Will the buyer or seller knows that the amp will spoilt after some time?

Is Lightning Audio considered as chap ayam? What I trying to stress here is every eletronic parts has its lifespan. It might be shorter than norm if kept hot all the time. What components are an amp used? Special type of capacitors and resistors used?
Anyway if using some mid-lower end ICE is considered as ICE knowledge low standard is abit childish. For me, people that have low knowledge on ICE is the people that only know how to buy expensive amps and will listen to what the acc shop people says without think twice. My setup : Pioneer 5750, LA amp B300.2 for sub, LA amp B300.4 for MB Quart and Pioneer speakers. The gains for amps are at 50%. As the B300.2 is 2nd hand, I only know it when it thermal cut after blast at 75%for 2hours. Why it cut? Just simple, some components is time to retired already. As the amp is >4years old. |

The lucky thing is I got the amp for rm300, so now after change the resistor, the cost for the resistor is rm0.3, now the amp can punch for >2 hours without any problem at same volume.

I never bought Agako amps before, I only came across it when stopped by at an acc shop. As thread starter said rm1-2k, so I think it will be 1 of the choice, then don't know who trying to says that I have this amp.

Choose the dual voice coil might be better, but depend on people taste. Atleast my PC speaker Altec Lansing ADA885's 8" DVC bass is more solid than other same price range speakers.
