As my loan officer told me, banks do deem local car buyers as being riskier than import/foreign car buyers.

The difference in interest rates reflect that.

Although lower rate of interest, the amount of loan is still higher (especially those 0% DP but 9 years period doh.gif). End up you are significantly owing and paying more.

Anyway there is no single definitive variable that banks use when reviewing loan application. Just like insurance, they will look at age, health, occupation, family and more. Foreign cars? Yes. Repayment capability? Yes. Employment status? Yes. Certain banks do offer low interest rate from time to time.

Not always true, lending RM70k for a Vios will always get a lower interest than lending RM70k for a Suprima S.

But for the rest of your post, yes I agree.

I don't see how the turbo can drain batteries.

As I understand the CFE engine bay engine can heat up quite easily if boosting frequently. Heat can shorten battery lifespan, but hard to say by how much.

My neighbor's SR20DETT had his battery replaced twice last year because of heat generated by the turbocharger and ...uh...his driving style sweat.gif After that everytime he come home he will lift his bonnet to cool down his engine bay.

mengsuan you've seen that car before....the car hit by my house's autogate laugh.gif

hi guys,
today my preve cfe got problem.
the car suddenly feel jerking and the engine stop in the middle of the road.
luckily that time no car behind me. and luckily some bangla workers near tht road come to help me to push there car to the side road.

i try to start the car again, the engine is alive but the engine feel jerking very terrible. i can see the rpm is up and down. try to turn the gear to D, but after pressing the fuel pedal, the car engine stop again.

i call the proton pomen from my recent service centre i go. (i just finish my 50k at 30 march 2015, service at that proton centre). 2 proton pomen come and rectify the problem. they found the engine check light indicator always on and they said possibly the some of the engine part got problem. im hardly check that indicator. since usually i just check the temperature coz my last experience with proton gen my car overheating coz i forgot to look at the temperature indicator.

they try to reset the car battery first. after reset, still the problem not solve. then they suggest me to tow the car and bring to thier center. iv done that. luckily got free towing for etiqa insurance i bought. BUt still i dont hv car right now. they spare car got people using it.

anyone here experienced this kind of problem?  how long they need to repair this kind of problem?

Too many possibilities. The SC will need to read the fault code from the ECU to narrow down the source of the problem.

I recently sent my car to Apple Auto for 60k (major) service. Made appointment few days before the actual day.

I arrived at the SC around 10 minutes before 10am. Service start around 10am as per scheduled. Easy to deal with the advisor. I just told him that I just want to follow the schedule maintenance, nothing less and nothing more. And it is just what they did. You can also hang around the service bay to see your car being service. I also talked with the technician on the conditions of my car.

Total time taken was 2 hours (plus car wash). Probably will return to the centre for next service.

I used to have good experience with Apple Auto, but after the previous time where they tried to reject my service voucher and make me pay for the service, I will never go there again.
