Hi all, happy CNY, I'm new here  just wanna ask for some advise since i do not know much about car repair etc. FYI my Preve 1.6 CVT (my first car bought early last year, seldom use milage less than 9000km) got accident yesterday in traffic jam hit someone's bumper(ironically he introduced his name as Kiki but a very gentle version of Kiki) resulted in my front bonnet dented. Wanna ask if u guys know how much the cost for changing to whole new front bonnet as according to abang workshop near Taman Melati that i went today, cost for original completed with paint would be approx. RM700. Really in tight budget( since i am the one who hit another car with around 2k to spend for his car repair) but at the same time dont wanna risk my car's integrity so is it wise for me to just send for ketuk, cement and spray for RM500 rather than change to new one? Also i am in the position of not applying for insurance claim for this repair, would it be wise to send to Proton SC instead of sending to regular car workshop? I am a total noob and still baffled on what to do, really need guidance from Preve otai like you guys. Thanking all of you in advance and really looking forward for your kind advise.

Anyway thanks for your kind advise, was actually considering the ketuk option as there's some other previous smaller dents (delaying to repair after procrastinating for so long) since this time the dent is quite bad tried to lump the repair together , hahah please don't judge me as i am actually a noob female driver who is still trying to appreciate my first car purchased using my own sweat and tears 😂

may i know which shop can fix this? what if the body and the mechanical thinggy still can be use and the only thing need to be replace is the mirror, is tht possible to replace the mirror only?

Did mine here but it's in KL. Using STP Bomb and very thick MLV sound barrier at the bottom of the front firewall. Can reduce the whine by quite some margin but there's no way to totally eliminate it.

I am guessing the only way to totally eliminate the whine is to attack it at the source. Get jacket/blanket to cover the entire gearbox assy. Haven't tried that yet. Looks a bit like this > https://www.designengineering.com//category...urbo-shield-kit

What other noise do you have? Car is generally quite well padded.

As an aside, all CVTs whine. Can be Honda, Toyota or Nissan. They all whine

my 2 year old preve have new problem, just realize rear wheel absorber one side is higher than other side.
right only can fit in 3 fingers, left can fit in 5 fingers from fender to tyre...

Tested driven again my uncle car around the road at nottingham uni/broga area. When compared to my honda city, preve eat my car for breakfast in cornering. To be honest CVT car is nice to drive if you drive it differently (driven other cvt car before for sometime). He as a car nut thinks that preve is the best value for money car in Malaysia due to our crazy tax structure

Why proton Service center, are all kelam kabut about engine oil?

one branch/SC have only Shell, the other sell PETRONAS only

none of the branch allow you to buy from any other place except their place...

Another branch don't have stocks and only have syntium 1000 15/50 and simply put in this oil and highly recommend and consider all eng oil the same lol!

Whatever happen to Proton and their SC?, this is surely mismanagement and another failure effort?

Perhaps then if we need the best of the best treatment we must buy Ferrari only or such best practise customer service is actually non existent in Malaysia.
