My Moto 360 Gen 1 suddenly decided to stop charging this week. So it's currently a paperweight. Anyone here experienced or heard about the same issue?

Both (since it's definitely out of battery now). If I put it on a Qi charging pad, the light on the pad blinks - but nothing happens (watch heats up).

I suspect the battery isn't holding a charge anymore.

Any suggestions or ideas?

Are you putting it on the charger it came with, or a different Qi pad?

The light blinking just means that the watch is communicating with the pad, but if it's heating up, yeah your battery might be shot.

I've been using the Motorola 360 2nd gen for a few months now, this is a great watch.

If you are thinking of getting one, just want to share some thoughts and tips:

1. Get the 46mm version. Dont buy the 42mm version, it is too small. The moto watch design wears small, so the 42mm wears more like a 40mm, which if you are a watch collector, you will know that that is bordering women's size. Get the 46mm version, as it wears more like 43/44mm. Yes, even if you have small wrist e.g. around 6" wrist. It will look good because of the downward curved lug design, so the watch will "hug" your wrist compared to the straight out lugs like the huawei watch will make look hanging empty in mid air, which looks ugly. Before buying the Moto 360 46mm, I tried the huawei watch (was my first choice initially because of the round face), but it look like a toy on my wrist, it is so small. Besides, a smart watch is supposed to have large screen/large size, so go for 46mm.

2. Dont worry about the screen being cut-off. I almost didnt buy the Moto 360 because of the "flat-tire" i.e. the screen is not fully round. After a few days, i hardly notice it anymore, especially if you use dark coloured watch face. They have a flat tire because that is where the brightness sensor is located. So your Moto 360 will lower the screen brightness when you go in a dark room automatically, and will increase the brightness when you out in bright sunlight. This is actually a very useful feature to have. Imagine your phone, you set to a fixed brightness e.g. 30% because you are in a dark room, then you go out into the sunlight, and your phone screen stays at 30%, so the screen is dim and you have to manually adjust the brightness, it would be quite a hassle. So dnt worry about the screen, you get used to it very quickly, plus you get the advantage of having a brightness sensor.

3. Buy the original metal bracelet - I bought the cognac leather initially, because it looks so good, but wearing leather strap in our hot climate sometimes your wrist gets sweaty, which is why i only use my leather strap Moto360 when i am mostly indoor. To make it more versatile, I bought a (standard 22mm) third party metal strap so that I can use the Moto 360 in hot outdoor situation as well. The problem is that the 3rd party silver metal strap is not the same silver colour as the metal on the Moto 360. The moto 360 has a very bright and whitish silver metal colour, while most 3rd party metal strap has a satin or bronze tint silver colour. When you put the metal strap on the moto 360 you can see the difference in silver (one is whitish silver, the other is brownish silver). If you dont care about this kind of this, then good for you. For me, it looks like I am wearing a mismatch item, so I ended up buying the original moto 360 stainless steel strap. Now it looks perfect. But I hardly use this because I prefer the leather more, even though it limits where i can wear my moto 360.

4. Get sharp and good looking dim screen - one of the complaints about the moto 360 is that when the screen goes into dim mode, for some reason the screen sharpness drops a bit, and watch face becomes a bit pixelated. On original moto 360 watch face, this is not so apparent, but if you download third party watch face, from of them looks really ugly and pixelated. Good news is that there is a way to solve this. Install Pujie Black and WatchMaker Premium. Actually I am not sure which one, but one of those app has a feature/setting that will make the moto 360 to display in full sharpness glory while in dim mode. The difference is amazing. You should try it. Those apps are paid apps, but well worth it in my opinion.

5. Use always-on, all the time! Dont worry about battery life, my moto 360 has never run out of battery by end of the day with always-on feature enable. By end of the day, i always have around 40%+ battery left. Using always-on greatly improve and enhance the user experience of using a smart watch. Moto 360 46mm also have bigger battery compared to the 42mm, so this is another reason to get the 46mm version.

6. Optional- get the Pujie Black watch face app - this is an great watch making app. You can design so many different watch faces to your liking. It is really worth getting as you can design your own analogue, digital, analogue-digital watch faces to your liking. The are so many design possibilities, it is worth it.

That's it. This is sort of like a mini review, or more like sharing tips. Enjoy your moto 360.

Hi guys,

Anyone bought moto 360 gen2 from Lazada?

Now Lazada is offering RM200 off and free premium gift. Is this the best deal already or there are better deals somewhere?

Anyone has any idea what's the premium gift?

Thanks!

I just leave it, as it should sleep after inactive. On moto 360 ( 1st gen ), battery drop around 12% overnight. Drop 40% doesnt sound right, I think it was still connected to your phone, as that's about how much battery drop over that period with connection.

I off at night, as I see no point keeping it on when you're asleep.
