The FBM KLCI is expected to have more upside vibes next week in line with the uptrend at most global markets this week.

The market's close above the 20-day and 50-day moving average suggests the short-term and medium term trend remains positive.

Overall, the FBM KLCI showed a positive technical setup with major support now pegged at 1800 and 1780 levels while major area of resistance is spotted at 1850 and 1880 levels.

Not meh? Hahaha,... is it a bit higher or lower? Always seem to read that only 1 (or 2) out of 10 are actually paying tax.

well i'm just thinking accuracy of the report and definition on not paying tax like does it include individual who declare income tax but do not need to pay or individual that don't even need to declare?

If so how, what is the actual # of workforce in percentage breakdown such as being taxed, not entitle to be taxed, don't even have to open profile with inland revenue and etc....
*
If I remember correctly, Malaysia workforce is around 12.8 million (maybe more).

1.8 mil individuals pays tax.

total individuals have LHDN account, that info is kinda confidential. Not available at the moment hmm.gif

sweat.gif  the number tells me that either there's lots of underpaid individuals or something is not right with the figure.

Just by 2 cents.

I think there's lots of under-declared individuals. That's why GST is coming to "collect" more tax rolleyes.gif

The bourse saw 1.36 billion shares worth 1.39 billion traded, with 434 gainers against 335 decliners.

The market also kept a close watch on the ringgit which, at 12.40pm, firmed up to 3.5545 against the US dollar

The ringgit's strength was seen due to higher prices of crude oil, which constitutes a crucial portion of the Malaysian economy.

The FBM KLCI closed 1.22% or 21.67 points higher after Bursa Malaysia reopened for trading following a two-day break, thanks to a rebound in global oil prices.

At 5pm, the benchmark index settled at 1803.02, after some 2.41 billion shares worth RM2.69 billion were traded.

Bursa Malaysia saw 467 gainers outnumbered 399 decliners, while 318 counters remained unchanged.

“Some retailers will start to sell down the week before Chinese New Year. This is more to do with risk management when the Malaysian stock market is closed. This limits their exposure to what is happening in foreign markets, which may affect Malaysia,”
