Hi, how long do the stock absorbers normally last? My persona currently clock at 87kKM, start to feel that the car is unusually bumpy over potholes.

U can get back OEM. Slightly better performance can go for Kayaba (KYB).

I changed my to adjustable edy =) drool.gif

Been there done that...about rm700 minimum...but then i kena skim a bit
*
for a gasket!? i just changed my absorbers, can't afford that damage now... if i leave it there and top up engine oil regularly, won't do much harm to my engine right?

Just changed mine recently, the rubber seal thing on top engine cost me RM80 for original. Labour charge im not sure bcos the total include other services, but part + labour should be RM100++.
*
Where did you change it? Proton service center?

If confirm gasket only. I wanted to share about silicon gasket that is supposed to last longer than normal rubber gasket.
google up "zordaq".
they are doing it for rm99 with labor for silicon gasket.
*
In Bangi? I'll go check them out after my exam.

I guess that's the problem on mine. With oil leaks on the right and front of engine.

I went to Michelin to change tyres, but they saw the leaking problem, so ask them to change for me also.

normal for most/all cars.

QUOTE(TDUEnthusiast @ Jan 15 2015, 04:57 PM)
Changed mine for RM60 + free labour since I did it myself. It's not hard, but time consuming if you want to do it properly (i.e clean the surface of the engine properly for the sealant to be applied on and etc), and you need the right tools to do the job, which aren't expensive to buy. I got a mini tool set for RM32 to do the job from a DIY store.

QUOTE(kennywee92 @ Jan 15 2015, 09:02 PM)
Yup. Rubber harden then leak.
Another outlet in Kampung Melayu Subang I think. Most probably is the top gasket. If bottom then macam wanbear already.
*
Thank you so much for all the info. But for DIY, most probably I'll just send it to workshop. Don't trust my own work lol. Anyway, thank you!

Hi, my persona got 'whoo' sound from the driver side engine bay whenever I turn the steering wheel or step on the accelerator. Anyone got this problem?

last time mine also got this sound..

in the end, claim warranty with SC

did they replace any part for u? or change new fluid?

QUOTE(TDUEnthusiast @ Feb 27 2015, 11:07 AM)
If it sounds like "wheeeeeee", I think it's related to your power steering fluid. I had that a long time ago. Used a long life Dexron 3 ATF fluid from Petro Canada as the power steering fluid and it has had no issues since.
*
QUOTE(iskazulka @ Feb 27 2015, 12:05 PM)
please checked your power steering fluid. power steering fluid should be change just like engine oil, brake oil etc.
*
i did change the poqer steering fluid, iirc the fluid i'm using now is only around 15k km old. i checked the color, it's still a bit reddish which means 'quite fresh'? even without the annoying noise, the steering does feel heavier than it used to be. i think i'll change the power steering fluid tomorrow and see how it goes.
