got some questions here.. does single channel really effects overclocking? before i used DDR2 667 512MB x2 at dual channel, n i can get till 2.5.. but when i add one more 512mb, it becomes single channel, and i just can go stable at 2.3. got any suggestions?

QUOTE(rainingzero @ Dec 11 2007, 06:25 PM) follow tapirus advices. but u need to loosen ur rams 1st so ur rams doesn't limited ur ocing. try to pump ur Vdimm as high as u can. but dont be too high la. later burned... u mean, i have to try with 5-5-15 2T first? i tried.. but can't hold up for 10 mins at 264MHz FSB.. vcore at 1.52 n vdimm at 2.09..after good good ocing result, then u may try to find sweet spot of ur ram timings.remember, tighter timings need higher Vdimm.. QUOTE(rainingzero @ Dec 12 2007, 06:46 PM) same proc speed result??but in benchmarking, i believe those 2 timings brings different result... yah same speed.. n yes FP-Y5... 1.57 rr? issit okay with only tuniq tower 120? so afraid anything happen LOL Hynix chips?? wht chips?? FP-Y5?? edit: maybe u can try to pump more Vcore up to 1.55-1.57v. |

why is it with my current speed, using prime 95, no errors for couple of hours.. but when running OCCT or Orthos, can't even stand for half an hour? n can play NFS carbon + movie making from morning till evening without a single lag?

i've reached my mobo's vcore limit edi, at 1.55... but my vdim is oredi at 2.1... i'm afraid if i go higher my ram will burn since i've got no cooling for ram

got a bit prob with my BE rig.. can't go even 3.1++ stable.
Edi tried >>250 X 12.5 >>240 X 13 >>200 X 15.5 >>216 X 14.5 >>220 X 14.5 >>220 X 14 >>and maybe few others that will sum about 3.1-3.3 at vcore from STOCK, till 1.55 with ram divider 533,667,800, with vdimm at 1.9 - 2.1, at stock timing.. already lowered the HT multiplier.. ah, idle temp is +- 35C and load at +- 55C my problem is, can't even pass orthos for more than 12 minutes i thot this one can go 3.1 at stock vcore only, well, that's what i've seen in almost every reviews..so... iissit my mobo's limit? spec: Athlon 5000+ BE cooled by tuniq tower 120 Gigabyte M55S-S3 Crucial Value(D9GMH) 1GB X2 Enermax FMA 535W Attached thumbnail(s) |

already did that.. but as stated above, even at 200 X 15.5 = 3.1GHz can't stable.. CnQ edi disabled.. edi tried other ram dividers.. Vcore from stock to 1.55.. so.. issit really cpu/mobo limit?

QUOTE(ktek @ Mar 3 2008, 11:24 PM) your not stable is BSOD or the screen just freeze up ? after few minutes of orthos, it says something like sumout error.. forgot perhaps the CPU need more time to handle that speed. not to say "Oh i just bought this Black Edition and got ZOMFG 3.XXGHz straight out of box " is happening everyday. with prefered Vcore and limit RAM on DDR400(leave it CL5 don't play yet) find the highest STABLE multiplier (avoid **.5x) then slowly up by 205, 210, 215MHz(for example) with same multi. check stability & monitor temperature everytime. open task manager make sure both core are on 100% usage, if lazy pls at least run 2 instances of SUPERPI 8M only takes about 5 minutes. you're suppose to reach the limit of CPU speed at the moment. to test your mobo limit: run on low CPU multiplier (8x/7x/6x) with lowest divider and keep pushing the HTT value. check stability. if you can get 300, congrats you got a good mobo. over 350 are great one ! knowing mobo limit is also important when matching DRAM speed since your CPU can do up & down magic. if i was just changing the multiplier without doing any increment on the FSB, does lowering/or leaving to it's actual divider will effect stability? hurm.. guess i'll try.. previously can go till 270 with my 3800 windsy F2.. so probably after few times of torturing, my CPU will eventually get matured enough to go higher? |

@one3rd yah still problem over 3GHz
btw, can you pass orthos at 3.2? @xixo_12 how much could be defined as safe vcore? stock - 1.4? or 1.5? n owh, if we didn't even touch the FSB, like 16 X 200, do we still have to touch the ram stuff?(divider/timings/vdimm etc) i mean, does these effects the oc since the ram is not OCed.. any descriptions of your settings? as in the HTT, ram divider, vcore, vdimm?
