I don't have a proper setup right now because of space constraint. Just LCR and a sub, maybe after move to a new place can setup properly. Been thinking of atmos and dts x but have to resist for now.

If the checksum matches the data on the receiver, then it means the firmware is global and not region based even if it doesn't seem like it otherwise (i.e you find the firmware on a US site, but not on the EU or Asia site).

Hello guys. Noob question hoping to get some answers. I've been listening to Spotify using my PM 6006's DAC paired with B&W 685 S2.

Just now I came across a local band called EB Duet with a few videos on YouTube. It's so much livelier and sounded much much nicer than the other songs I heard on Spotify / YouTube (so called audiophile versions).

How come these few songs sound so much livelier?
Or is it just me?

Kinda agree with this too as I also change from 5005 to 5010.

There's also more surround modes to choose from with the 5005 if your source is not DD or DTS. I miss the DTSneo for astro or any 2.0 source.

I also hate the new remote. Older one with learning remote and backlight much better and gives you so much more control.

wa, only 3 years old products they so fast stop the production already o.O If the repair cost me 600+ i feel worth it. It is because i have an external amp to drive front channel, the AVR i choose must have preout, which is marantz brand is the cheapest  Now the brand new sr5008 cost around 2.3k >.<

Guys, just bought a Marantz HD-AMP1, 3 things that surprise me:

1. Not very color warm sound, just a little bit which is even very little traceable from track to track, 2 digital music filters, first one a little bit smooth and warm, second has clearer and open sound

2. Class D but running so hot, worry it's cannot last long, it's more powerful than I imagine, drive my Denton more than enough, compare to my Class D Audio SDS-400C power amp, it is as if same powerful

3. It's Made in Vietnam? Huh? Is that better than Made in China?

So far very satisfied with this amp
