I think by factory keyboard they mean "A keyboard which ready to use when purchased".
By Custom Keyboard, I think they mean a keyboard which being constructed manually part by part by yourself.

DAS keyboard is one of the best around. Would recommend it. But, it lacks LED. Take note for this. If you don't care about LED, you can go for it.

Still, I'll pick Ducky, Filco and CM Storm over DAS. They have a more general layout which is good for modification later if needed.

Razer is bad even with Cherry MX(their current or newer generations are Kailh).
*
You tried das before? And also, das 4 is standard BTW. Previous models might not be standard

i didn't even know that was a thing. What exactly is the difference between that and just using software like Zemana antilogger on pc ?
*
You wouldn't know that there's any exploits that can cripple software based solution. Not to mention 0day exploits as well.

Not only that, what if you travel everywhere with keyboard and use it on public PC? You don't have to use a software based solution. Just plug and play?

OTD = On The Desk, IINM.

Korean custom.
*
Yes, OTD is on the desk, which is a Korean keyboard forum

They've built a series of community designed boards, namely 356

The OTD 456 is another series (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

Tl;Dr

Rare Korean custom keyboard.

then, lingloong's the cheapest liao.

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Feb 13 2015, 06:01 PM)
thats insane price.

Anyway hmm testing the blackwidow chroma vs k70 vegeance (Red Swicth). Ducky shine 4 later.

Kindda like the chroma ( although i swore of razer half a decade ago.. just hoping this time it doesnt kill any of the i/o usb).
The software is pretty easy. Corsair..hmmm... doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif ....needs a bit more errr reading.... but tying on it really i dont see any difference with G19 to be frank just a bit more noisy.
*
i once thought it's not worth investing a high price for just a keyboard and then I've realized that I was wrong all along. Still, this is a very subjective thing and varies from person to person.

And yes, corsair's software is not user friendly enough as compared to razer's.

Different build quality, material, and also construction greatly affects your typing feel and sound. The keycaps you use also plays a great role in this.

I guess. But my preference is always.
1. GPU
2. RAM/CPU/MOBO.

so currently doing a x99 mini atx wc build.  In preparation for full Maxwell. Really hope its 50 percent on stock faster than titan black with a oc margin of 20-30% with a fast 12gb VRAM ( Hoping for HBM on nvidia although i doubt it)

Also talking about quality.. Hmm really wonder about all of ure rigs. Full alu casing etc?? Nickel air coolers n custom wc??

So far gamed with the chroma in evolve. I can see the slight difference in response.
*
custom wc coming soon.

left one more 360 res, tubes and fittings.

But from what i can see its ironic cause...
Their case is not full alu. Psu not platinum. Cooling if its air not nickel plated.

Most important hardware on their computer experience gets neglected.

Not all of them but generally. But notice alot of mkb ppl are audiophiles.

Hmm decided to use the razer rgb chroma for main rig n k70 rgb for second. Ducky shine 4 give bro inlaw as cny present.

Waiting now for the das k/b to be shipped.

Even though a keyboard is a subset of a computer but mechanical keyboard enthusiasts might not be necessary PC enthusiasts or power user.

You don't need to have a high end PC just to play with mechanical keyboards. And not everyone play with PC games when they get mechanical keyboards. There are professional typists that just use mechanical keyboards for typing.

How powerful your PC is, it isn't going to affect your typing experience but your keyboard is.

And like what 016 said, mechanical keyboards itself is a very niche section. The study of it is pretty intricate. How your keyboard is built, with what material is going to affect typing feel but still, varies from person to person.

So, long story short, you don't have to have a good PC to use a good mechanical keyboard and vice versa. It is two different fields of interest and it's up to the user whether they want to get into it or not.

Cheers.
