haha i used to take bus from cheras to kl to take lrt to pj then take feeder bus to office, everyday spent 3 hours+ on public transport, have to leave home around 5:45am and reach office on time at 8am ++ if i did not miss the bus, else will reach office 9++am

Nice analysis, i think mrt coverage is better a lot compare to lrt. Mrt almost cover most of the commercial location which have high working force...

From home at Sungai Long / BMC - 6.12 am

Exit BMC(past the Grand Saga Toll) - 6.26 am

Reach Tunnel turn into Connaught - 6.32 am

Exit Tunnel - 6.36 am

Reach the "demolish east-west link toll gate" near Salak -  6.42 am

The split join between to KL/Federal/Old Klang - 6.55 am

Arrive office parking in PJ - 7.08 am

Skipped some due to unable to time.

Not only Sg Long but Cheras folk that work in KL will suffer for traffic thanks to MRT project, while those work in PJ suffer both MRT construction and East West Link jam!

MRT will be better, look forward to 2017.

I think the bottleneck issue can be resolved by building flyover bridge and get rid of the traffic lights.. But the root question is, who is going to pay..

KL city center is already a total bottleneck, but because people need to work, no choice die die need to go there everyday..

East West link jam because of 2 main issues:

1.) The 3 lanes already not sufficient to support the number of motorists that can come out from more than 40 housing estates along the stretch at the same time. 

2.) Federal highway already bottlenecked during morning rush hour, of course the worse case can be expected when east-west link is joined to federal highway. All the motorist just jam in the joining and all the way behind, can't move cause federal highway itself already congested. 

 

putrajaya is well planned   

I think it is not going to happen soon, the mind of the government only focus on KL KL KL, so all the 3 MRT lines are passing KL city Center, I don't think they see the need to build more lines in outer KL, Selangor to divert the people, a big part of PJ is not covered by public transport, if it covered also not at the highly density area and commercial area, so sad.

The design of the public transport is not efficient, in order for cheras folks to go to PJ, they have to travel all the way to KL then only PJ, by the time they reach PJ already 1hour+ not including feeder bus and other ways of transport, so ended up they will drive too.

For me there should be more LRT to link to MRT, like Kajang area should have a LRT connecting bangi, semenyih area to the MRT and KTM, the monorail at Putrajaya should connect to Cyberjaya, there should be a MRT/lrt from at south linking kajang, serdang, puchong and all the way to PJ and so on 

if u sleep another 1/2 hr, then u may stuck longer time in the traffic....

it only take 5 minute late for 30 minutes of extra traffic congestions added to your regular time.

Work as usual until 8-9pm only go back. Still there's the Federal to East west link bottleneck. I wonder why did they expand that extra one lane for. 

That's how i live 0550 wake up(+5 mins extra due to heavy bed) , 0610 Am out of house to PJ. Though my job is until 1730 only but i rather go back late than unexpected traffic jam along federal highway. Zombie Life.
FYI, my previous job is in KL. so i took public transport u41/bet2 then LRT in KL area.

Since More UTAR student will be moving to Sg Long, might be moving to PJ but again paying the maintenance fee in BMC doesn't balance out the rental vs car fuel.
