did u listen the AKG601 wif headamp?
I dunno how many percent better from 601 to 701.

The main reason i like AKG701 is the wide soundstage instead of sticking to a more open-bright & more clarity Grado sound.

About Grado pads. der is something to give different sound output.
SR60 pads is giving u more bass impact & less clarity.
SR80 open pads drift away the bass impact but Clarity push up. And the music sounds more wider soundstage due to the pads is Thick.
(The clarity is something like in Koss kcs75)

In the end, i prefer SR60 closed pads due to the bass impact making my music more ALIVE.

No idea bout the Senn pads to test of SR60 yet.

p/s:The price of 601 in AsiaSound could get u AKG701 at SG.

a burn-in K701 for RM 1260...
and for bonus, he mentioned it in his head-fi meeting that how *ahem* good his headphones sound better than his friend's.

i would rather go to singapore to buy. with all the tahi telinga and u know what, hehe,

brand new one i can burn in myself hehe..

no upgrades for me now.
i will only be able to upgrade it after chinese new year.

dont worry, it will somehow one day come to u , and u will eventually own one. and definately enjoy the sound of akg 701

i just wonder how much wider the 701 staging that is compare to my 601, it is one in heaven and the other in earth ?

anyway 601 does sound great. but if i could, 701 would be the way to go.

here is an idea of how much you will get the AKG 701 in singapore. it should be arround RM 1200 after conversion. bargain a bit lah.

as for the place to get, once i find i will post here,. keep updated ok , hope u will make a good choice.
