Guys, want to ask if my potential SG salary is worth it to take up. Or what should be a reasonable increase that you would consider appropriate?
Current MY Salary - RM15.2k gross, RM11k nett

Potential SG salary - SGD10k gross

From this, I'm assuming the following deductions :
Tax - 15% = SGD1500
EPF -11% = SGD 1100 (confirmed SG Employer will be contributing so I have to contribute my portion as well)
Rental - SGD1500
Food, transport, Bills etc - SGD1000

Balance SGD4900 x 2.45 (using an average long term rate) = RM12k

Hence, is it worth it to move to SG just for RM1k extra?
*
only PR and Singaporean have CPF, the rest don't have. Singapore tax is generally lower than Malaysia, probably just 50% of what you have projected here. If you need more info you could pm deodorant, he's among the elite few who hit $10k/month mark ( fiona chin pls confirm ). What industry are you in?

Guys, if like MyRepublic 200Mbps plan, the download speed really 200 mbps ar ??
That is like 10 times faster than Unifi 20 mbps le ?
*
still have 200mbps plan? thought their plan start from 1gbps. The only advantage I see using MyRepublic is the 'hypertunnel' service, taking out the hassle of setting up a VPN manually. You can subscribe to Netflix or Hulu straight away. Just that you have less selection of servers if you wanna go 'anonymous' on your online activities smile.gif

Can consider car pool as well, normally a trip cost SGD 5-7.
You might have to wake up 5+ morning and back home 8+.
If you don't mind q-ing, rushing and no after work life. this could be a good option

+ getting mug & rob too.

Guys. How much is considered high working in SG?

I believe there is some difference between how much fresh grad is getting paid in Msia and SG.

Let's say, if you have 1.5 years experience, Msia offering RM4800, SG offering (3600, no cpf so +632 = total 4232sgd), which one to go for?

malaysia = IT operations work, permanent staff
SG =  SAP implementation work, permanent staff + chance to travel.
*
QUOTE(bearbear @ Jan 19 2015, 02:09 PM)
imho go for SG offer.

Hi,

Just got my international driving license, got one question.

I'm Singapore PR, can i drive my own malaysia car / malaysia rented car, into Singapore using my international permit ?

I only got malaysia license and international driving license. No singapore license.
*
first of all, there's no international driving licence, only international driving permit. There's no other purpose for it other that to serve as a English translation for non-English driving licence.

guys, is it to much asking 2k sgd for a diploma holder? Going to sg this February for interview.
*
s$2k is definitely too low, you will be struggling. Lester1987 will spm already commanding > s$3k. How he do it? Just pm him and ask nicely.

i got offer working in sg with 1750-2000 sgd. can i survive there?

i never been to sg, so didnt familiar with the road and the transport, will be working in central singapore if not mistaken, how is the cost living in central? if possible wanted to save 1000sgd, im a muslim btw.

btw, after some reading i will graduate in bachelor of science computer this may, should i ask for 2.3-2.5k  sgd?
*
its pretty uncomfortable to live with a salary below s$2k. You might have to share a rented room, always budget on your meal, almost no extra for entertainment.
I always tell my work folks, they are the lucky ones, drawing s$2.5 as freshie with only diploma. Add a few OTs and easily draw > s$3k month. Downside is working shift, 15 days work 15 days off.

15days work 15days off means what? Work continuous without rest for 15 days then 15 days continuous no need work?

I definitely die for that kind of job. Every month can go two weeks holiday cool2.gif  cool2.gif
*
means they work only 15days/month max. Schedule like working 3d work + 3d rest & 2d work + 2d rest that kinda combo, but working day is 12hrs. Pretty common in O&G.
Sometimes they swap shift and often get 1 week break in every month. It pretty cool cycle I would say, lots of time to do your own stuff.
