hi guys, if both foreigners holding employment pass, not PR but planning to after some time, is it better to do ROM in SG or MY to have higher chances?
From what I know, the fee for SG about SGD200 and for MY about RM30?

*
actually the chances are the same. there's no clear guide or requirement for one to become a PR.

I know that Malaysian citizens with Singapore PR holders are NOT allowed to drive a Msian/foreign registered vehicle into Singapore. Are there any exceptions anyone is aware of?

"They must prove that they work and reside in West Malaysia, and have paid the relevant Singapore registration fees and taxes for these vehicles as if they were registered in Singapore. Furthermore, they are allowed to drive their Malaysian-registered vehicles into Singapore only for up to 28 weekdays a year, in addition to weekends and Singapore public holidays"

1) I must work and stay in West Malaysia
2) taxes and fees as if they registered in SG = COE?
3) 28days max?

Do all these add up to be the same? Not sure. Any thoughts?
*
Pretty clear to me but yet to see anyone doing this. Getting a Sg registered car would be much easier and cheaper.

Hi i have a relative who is PR reside in Malaysia (housewife not working), how can she get the letter from LTA to drive her malaysian car in Sg? Appreciate your reply pls.
Thanks.
*
she can apply but is she prepare to pay for all those taxes on the Malaysia registered car? Amount could be quite substancial , up to almost what you need to pay to own a Sg registered car.

Show increase VEP more until the FTs feel the pinch so less car on the road. Push COE so high but allow foreign car to come in cheap. Hidup FTs.
*
overall I see the VEP system in Sg quite fair, formulated around coe price. Can't say the same for Marehsia VEP which is discriminating against Sg, if you take Thai into consideration.

Working harder in singapork is a given.. bosses here expect 300% productive output.  feels like I've aged 10years since I came back to here to work 4 months ago...
Prior to that, I was working in Kl for a year on sg wages. Bestest time ever.

Sigh.. now bad times just lucky to be employed.. lol
*
funny, coz I felt the expectation is the same, unless you in government sector.

Hi Guys,

Recently moved here and wanted to ask everyone here 2 things.

1) What do you guys do during holidays and weekends? Other than going to shopping malls. It seems there is nothing much to do (other than the zoo and Universal Studios). Super bored during the long SG50 holiday.

2) Where to go for cheap happy hour drinks? I mean cheaper than the usual 15 dollars per pint affair. Any cheap and decent place to have a pint and hang out?
*

No car here though. So hard to get out of the island. But I get the idea.

Any place to drink though? Any casual drinkers in here? hehe.
*
1. Can go watch movies, tryout all the cafes & restaurants, go do sports, visit places like pulau ubin or take a short trip to Batam drool.gif
2. Most of the drinking place sure have happy hours. Sg lots of drinking places. If want cheap and decent, just drink at hawker center.
I have a few regular hangouts, can try if you interested; Acid Bar / Jibiru / Brotzeit / Muddy Muphy @ Somerset + Mulligans / Wine Connection / Paulaner Brauhaus @ Clarke Quay + Queens @ Vivocity + BLooiE's / Harry's / Spruce Fire Station @ Bukit Timah thumbup.gif

Bread Street Kitchen worth the wait?

if your do not compare it to their flagship restaurant in UK, then it's ok i guess. just don't set your expectation too high just because it's owned by Gordon Ramsey. It's meant for mid tier.

Different tolerance level and financial capability.

Those rich bunch will wonder isn't it awkward to share a ceiling or floor in HDB or condo with complete stranger?

Not awkward to share a party wall in terrace house?

Not awkward to share a fence in bungalow?
*
we are talking about sleeping together in a room. you are too elite to know what that means.
